Yeah, I'm not going to on my new phone since I'll be getting the ICS update soon anyway. But once it passes out of warranty, it will be rooted.

No need to wait until out of warranty. You can always unroot that's what I do. Never had any issues yet. ICS is nice but now Jellybean is out so I will be moving to that soon.

Well I'll think about it. There are some good guides to rooting the MAXX out there, but I'll see how the OTA ICS update is. I may root if I get tired of all the bloatware (gosh Moto is waaay worse than HTC there). Not really worried about Jelly Bean - I hear it's a minor upgrade (like 2.2 -> 2.3), but I'm probably getting the Nexus 7 soon so I'll see how it is.

As soon as there's a stable release for the us gs3. I will start playing with roms and stuff, but I am still new to android so I don't know everything you can do. I imagine the possibilities are endless lol:D

Hahahahaha I learned how to root my phone lol I soft bricked it one trying to figure it out so now I have cwm touch recovery also ^^ but I still have restricted access to the WiFi hotspot tho unlimited data and no way dare it hahaha

To activate your hotspot wifi feature on your phone, check out foxfi. Its been pulled from the play stare but you can still go to their website for it. It activated my wifi hotpsot without having to pay and im not rooted.

I might go back at some point. I was really intent on getting into development, but with work and school and a family, it just got to be too much.

I was flashing ROMs several times a day sometimes, combining this ROM with that kernel to try to get the best bench scores and clock possible, and then painstakingly testing UV to a point where my phone would actually live off of its charger for more than a few hours at a time.... It just got to be too much. Once I get free time to do all that stuff again, I'll consider a return, but I'm one of those people who just can't leave well enough alone, I HAVE to tinker and I HAVE to push it if the opportunity arises. With the Lumia, no one has even unlocked it yet, and there isn't anything it can't do which I would want/need it to. Sure the specs aren't exactly eye-popping, and WP7.5 is still missing some features, but overall it gets the job done and I don't spend all day tinkering with it.

Maybe if there is ever another TRUE Nexus phone, I will hop back over to the dark side. However, I don't know if there are any plans for that. Hopefully they go back to the roots with that moniker after watering it down like they did. As awesome of a device as the Galaxy Nexus was, it was a Galaxy first and Nexus second. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm running a custom rom inquistion that I got from goo.im which its under bolted and battery lasts all day if I don't play any games on it but streaming music with the screen of barely uses any battery at all just wish the companys would resolve the huge amount of power the screens have to use
