No, I don't think so. Didn't you hear? Forward unto Dawn is a promo mini-series (6 15-minute episodes starting in October). If you get the Limited Edition, you get them on DVD.

You can watch them online as they release (on Machinima and I think Waypoint), so you don't have to get the LE to see them. But the LE has a bunch of other stuff that makes it worth it (like the free DLC when it drops, sort of like Elite), so I pre-ordered the limited one.

That's cool. I always get the LM edition anyway. Especially the Halo one. They're always bad ass looking

Yeah and the extras always make it cool. Halsey's journal in Reach was great.

I agree. The only downside in having the LM Edition for Reach is that it takes up a good portion of room in where I keep my xbox games

Lol yeah. I have a row of all these identically sized and shaped cases, and then this massive one that sticks out further and is as thick as 3 or 4 regular ones. That's why I just need to only buy limited editions. :D

So far, the only huge LM edition game I own is Halo Reach. When BO's comes out, that will be my second. What I really need to do is trade a bunch of unused games and see if I can get anything from them. I'm tired of looking at old games that I'm never going to play again.

Yeah Reach was the first one and MW3 was the only other one. Most games I either bought late or they didn't have a steelbook.

The only LM editions that looked cool enough for me to buy was Reach. I like BO's LM edition, so I'll be getting that one. I def forgot to get MWF's LM edition cause I wasn't paying attention lol.

I suspect this series served a dual purpose as promo for Halo 4 and trial run for a full-length movie. How exactly they were going to use it to determine whether they will make a movie of not I don't know.

They may go about it based on how many views the mini series can acquire. If you can base the amount of views by judging each episode from the first to the last. You can base the amount of people who will go the movie theaters and watch the movie. If one is ever to be made.

No...they're only pulling in about 1.7-5 million views. A 'blockbuster' is going to get about 30 million seats filled. Different distribution model, different thresholds of exposure.

They would get more exposure if they had advertised it better than they had. It was a little too hushed in my opinion, yes the film/mimi-series will pull in a smaller fan base then another movie. I think the live action is done pretty well this time around the ODST commercial was a little dorky, Reach was done better, and its improving. I could see a movie being done I think it should be given to James Cameron if it gets to that point, Avatar was really freakin cool and for the love of God keep it away from Disney.

Sorry, but 2 billion dollars worth of theater revenue disagrees with you. Sure, the story isn't groundbreaking, but as a director there are very few people who could do a better job than Cameron.

Honestly though, I think this is more of a test. Find out if they can create something that can do justice to the franchise, and make it look realistic. If they can pull this off, then they know going in how to make the movie.

Actually, when a movie makes that much money, it does suggest that a very large percentage of the viewers do, in fact, believe it's good. There's also the fact that it was so well received critically.

Not saying you can't like it, or that you're wrong somehow...but suggesting that Cameron is a bad director because you're in a minority is kind of silly.

Especially if he's directing....but not writing.

Finally got to sit down and watch this from start to finish and all I can say is...freaking AMAZING!!! That was better then a lot of theater released movies. The attention to detail really stunned me (specifically the needles shattering). I watched it alone and caught myself calling out enemy types.. and I love that they included the Jackels.
