Just figured I would develop a thread to share screen shots of your PI networks. This will allows others to either get an idea of what to do or give/receive feedback from others in the industry.
For example:
1. Strictly an extraction planet set to a 14 day cycle.

2. Example of a T2 & T3 production network setup to maximize T2 production while supporting a mediocre amount of T3 commodities. No production plans were placed, this was strictly for demonstration purposes only.

I love this idea. Now I can see what a good set up looks like. :)

Very well done Frieght. I want to get into PI down the road but ill stick to mining right now.

More coming but here's a portion of what I'm working in terms of visual aids

i'm noticing this isn't coming up as large as it really is to see the details, if you want the file message me in TS and ill send it to you

Editing posts with this forums current settings is crap.
This double post is to allow the image from above be broken down so when clicked on you can read and see better detail.

From my experience there is no single "right" strategy, as long as you hit your target extractions/productions it doesnt matter how its set up. Ive done everything from eyeballing extractor nodes on 1 day cycles to 14 day cycles with small overlap and resetting after 3 days for optimal extraction in null sec.
Personally for extraction only planets I prefer using the "satellite" setup. Just plop a extractor control unit and a launch pad next to a high concentration of resources and relocate when its depleted. With lvl4 CC upgrade I get 18 extractor nodes per extraction planet.
Here is one of my current extraction sites, which extracts on a 1 day program. I reposition the heads and/or the entire extraction location if a new more dense spot pops up on a different part of the planet. This current program is projected to produce just under 1 mil units of noble metals in a 24 hr period.

An important thing to remember for picking planets is that just because the scan bars show that there is little of a resource on the planet doesn't mean you cant get good extraction rates. Lower total amounts usually mean higher concentrations and finding two concentrations close together is important as you see in this picture allows me to swap between sites and let the other "rest."
Multiple times Ive had planets in hirizan/rayeret rival the extraction of a planet in Menri but only for a day or two.
Another important thing to know is when building a production planet that you pick the planet with the smallest radius. This will reduce the link cost per meter and will allow you to squeeze the most out of your production planets.
This is a production planet I have in Hirizan I on my PI alt which produces 3 robotics and 10 coolant per hour.

This is with a lvl4 CC which uses all of the 17000 power available.
The 3 launch pads allow me to import 3mil units of R0 materials at a time which helps reduce the amount of times I have to pull up the window and import every day.
