Recommend a Tactical game?

Anyone remember old school PC shooter games like Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear, and Rainbow Six Raven Shield? In these games people had to move slow, crouch, peek around corners, aim, take their time etc. Why? Because the game was AWESOME and there was a fear of death. Fear of death being that once you died, you had to wait for respawn. In these games, if you ran around as fast as you could, jumping, spraying, dolphin diving, noob tubing, and exhibiting reflexes of a 12 year old on speed, you didn't last long and became discouraged and left to find a COD title or something.

Would anyone know of any games that are more recent (within the last 3 years?) that are more of a tactical play style? Either on the PC or the PS3?

I enjoy Battlefield 3 on the PS3, but honestly it's still just run and gun, which is fun.. sometimes.. What I'm really looking for is that next game that wants us to take cover, aim, provide covering fire for team mates, offers a penalty for dying thus preventing the players from going 'Rambo'.

I would LOVE to find a BF3 server on the PS3 that enforces no Run & Gun honestly. If anyone knows of a server like that they found please share!

Well you could play Hardcore on BF3...you expose yourself, you'll get put down by 1-2 bullets.

Ahh, yeah I forgot about HC on BF3. That's not accessible from the QUICK PLAY option though correct? I would need to go into the server browser for that right?

Do we have any other USMG that prefers this type of gaming? If so please add my PSN tw0sh0t2112.

I don't know. I thought there was an option. I always use the server browser anyway. You can add me, but I'm using my buddy's PS3 so I'm not sure how long I'll be on. (Although, I'm thinking I'll probably buy a PS3 soon)

Yep, and you CANNOT spot enemies. A little more realistic....plus it eliminates the MAV squads...

I thought you could spot, it was just slightly different mechanics...but MAV squads are so fun!

You can spot but the orange triangle don't show up basically your spotting but you have to communicate with your teammates where they are at
