Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. Glad you're safe. Here's to hoping the damage was minimal to none.... WTF is wrong with people?

Glad everyone is ok, but what kind of dumb ass goes onto a military base full of people who are trained to fight alot of people with alot of guns. Did he really think he could take out the base with an M16, and alone. IGNORANCE AT ITS FINEST!!!!

Nor have I. I've asked a bunch of soldiers around here if they knew anyone out there and no one had heard of anything that had happened

I asked about it too but I've gotten blank stares every time.

All I've got out of it is they took a guy in custody before he got a shot off. I guess it was more of a standoff.

Doesn't surprise me. I asked my unit security manager and they said that if they can keep these things under wraps they'd rather they not make it to the press.

That's good. He probably wanted attention and therefore did what he did to get it. I'm sure he didn't want to kill anyone

Yup. Is this subforum indexed to public search queries?

I was told his unit is deploying and they were at a range. He has been really stressed and got pissed and left with his m 16 and all of his rounds. Went to the dfac and was taken in

It's good that this cat didn't decide that letting rounds go was a better idea than just coming in. Maybe he can get help now and you guys out there are safe. We had a Sgt. at my airbase that decided that he would kill his kids and then himself rather than deploy again. It was a bad day that day.

That's insane. People are so selfish.

I agree with you, Nasty. His kids were little guys, too.

He didn't hurt anyone which is good. I hope he gets the counceling he needs and can be happy and return to his family.

It saddens me deeply anytime kids are involved. I think I heard about the guy at your base rhino.

Tyson, I'm really happy that he didn't put anyone else at risk before they brought him in. And maybe he can go back home and be settled. That would be good for everyone.
