View Full Version : [PC] Who is Not coming to Null Sec

Hey guys just wanted to post this to find out who is not coming with us to Null Sec and staying to FUB dor the time being. Remember, our end goal is to get the corp into null sec. So eventually we will jave the entire corp in null sec. This is a decision u can make on ur own and we dont want to force anyone to do something they are not comfortable with. The guys we are running with are a good group of guys and very helpful, but eventually we will part ways and bring our banner into Convicted Alliance. But i just want to know who will he staying in FUB and staying in high sec? But onto other news my life in null sec has been really profitable. I have made almost 100 mil just ratting and a few times mining.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet...
Right now I've got Grim slowly consolidating all assets in a high-sec location so I can have them shipped somewhere once I decide what I'm going to do, and liquidating a bunch of assets by refining them back to minerals. I'm not sure if I want to put him in Null-Sec because he's low-level combat. He won't be able to go ratting solo, and there are rarely other people online and doing anything at the times that I'm on. So other than moving stuff out of Ravarin/Steggette, I'm just maintaining my training queue.
Freia is in even worse circumstances. Her stuff is split between Hiri/Menri/Stegette and she still has a lot of PI resources stuck in Menri. Eventually I'll get her moved to the same system where I'm moving Grim's stuff, but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with her after that. She's a low-level Indy (not a miner) and without faction standing she'll never be able to use research agents, which is what I was primarily training her up for. In 3 weeks she'll be able to operate a freighter, but it'll be 3 months before she can handle a jump freighter. I don't know how I'd get her or her stuff (blueprints and such) out to Null-Sec. Once she got there there'd be nothing for her to do except PI stuff, but with limited ability to haul anything, or to follow rat fleets around in a Noctis. But, again, there's rarely anyone logged on and doing anything at the times I am.
For the time being I'm going to just consolidate my stuff and find somewhere to move where I can work on CONCORD/SOE and other empire-neutral faction standings. Maybe work on my Minmatar standings a bit. Mostly I'm probably just going to be monitoring my training queues.

No worries man. If ur not comfortable coming out then we wont force u. The time difference is made up with us being in an alliance that is allied with CFC. There is always someone on, especially when im on which is a shock. They got a good amount of PI out here and someone is always ratting out here. Rouge, Alexia, and Raging all cant rat by themselves but i believe they are making some good iskl running with a few guys or mining. The offer still stands for u man and if u decide to come out im sure ull enjoy it here. U are more than welcome to stay in FUB/USMG for as long as u like. Oh and most of us hang out in FUB's Lodge when we are logged on to talk to the FUB/USMG members that are online at the tiome, but no worries man. Feel free to take ur time and work on whatever u gotta work on.
Ya Alexia's little drones can't hurt the bigger rats but we're talkin rats with over a million isk per kill and there's so many belts if I could get into a drake, which I'm close too btw, I could make tons of isk and that's without salvaging anything lol.
I gotta admit, I had some major doubts about nullsec and I didn't think id make it past a day before I threw up my hands. But I gotta tell ya, its a lot of fun, fairly tight security and as long as u use the jumpbridge map and watch the intel channels it really isn't that bad. I made 60mill in a few hrs Sunday, granted I spent it all on T2 drake fittings, BPOs and skill books but oh well haha they got some really nice skill planners for nullsec life also. Its been a huge help for me and nullsec so far has been an awesome learning experience.

I made the move, but with only 5 million and just a rifter I'm scared to do much. I need to get with the logistics runners for skill books then go help mine or something while I get stronger

You can always ask in corp if anyone is going into jita. I had to do that cause I needed more ammo bpos. Dude just contracted them to me and poof, 4 new bpos and I never left nullsec.

We are going to be running a 'weekly' jump freighter run from Jita and back. Keep training, if you are online when I am ratting I will invite you to the fleet, you can bring your Rifter and get blow'd up Rats won't shoot your pod, so you will inevitably make more ISK than it will take to replace the ship.

Yeah I'm less than a day away from getting into a drake (training-wise; money-wise I'm quite a bit short but that's something that can be rectified in a few hours), but quite a bit longer than that away from being able to fit the stuff required for doctrine, so for now I'm pretty much sitting in station and tagging along any ratting fleets with a Cat that's fit to salvage. With GW2 coming out and a move for the next two weeks (and on top of that move, trying to close on a house in the burbs), I'll probably be on sparsely, as I can't really do much anyway until my techs are up.
So, if you don't see me around much for a couple weeks, don't worry, I'm not sandbagging. It's going to be a very busy couple of weeks. I don't think I'm very far away from null sec being a lot more fun, once I get into the Drake.
EDIT: One thing I still have a question about: the 60-day goon plan includes basic PI networks for passive income. Ignore this or no?

I actually had a convo with the general about that the othernight before he logged. I was going threw the list with stuff I was missing from it and that stood out, so I asked him. He said that was in there mainly to help new pilots make easy isk. It was ment be in there to just set it up, let the stuff build up and sell it on the market once it was full and to be just a steady income stream.
Personally its not on my list of piorities to train for just yet because of the cost to set it up and the learning how to do it, and sense my RL is kinda busy I just don't have the down time to learn it lol

My question would be which market do you sell it in? Basic stuff, or more complicated?

Bkg has a pretty steady market from I've noticed. But I'm thinking of just selling stuff right at I-7 because of all the ppl ratting and all the indy guys that seem to hangin around. Other than that I'm not really sure on all the trade hubs yet. Haven't been able to play much this week...sucks cause I need the isk haha

One of the main intents is to make I-7 a market hub. So if you can sell everything there that would be beneficial to the over-all end result. Of course, realize that BKG is the known market, so it may take time to get people into our system.

I started to get on last night but was dog tired from another long day at work. How do I request skill books from the guys running the logistics runs to Jita.
Also I have a Ritter but no weapons that will fit to it since I never used projectile weapons. I did the rail guns and some rockets before. I was thinking the Velator to do some things, so I can go make some cash. I am so broke. Thoughts?
I am gonna try and get on tonight, anyone gonna be on some can tag along and try to join in?

You should be able to put rail guns on a Rifter. You'll lose out on some bonuses, so you'll be somewhat weaksauce, but at least you'll have a ship you can use.

Now, considering the last two posts (before my previous), I have to run my mouth for a minute...
In my opinion, you guys that got together and decided to do this null-sec move without getting opinions/comments/concerns from the rest of us are now morally obligated to help guys like Port and Clue stay on their feet until they can actually survive there without you.
On a related note, I might move Grim out there this weekend sometime. Still not sure what I'm gonna do about Freia. She has too much PI crap to just throw it away, and she's still a couple of weeks away from flying a normal freighter to be able to try to move it North on her own. Plus, she has a shit-ton of blueprints to move that actually need to be moved to null-sec to be useful, since they never got researched before the Menri POS was torn down. Is there even anywhere out there where I can do research without a multi-week wait?
When I'm ready to move, how do I arrange for someone with a Jump Freighter to move the stuff that I intend to take with me? Grim has multiple Hounds and Jaguars, rigged and fitted, along with some additional modules and a few packaged ships I want to take along. Freia has a Noctis, Mammoth, and Retriever that are rigged and fitted that she'll need to take with her when she goes, along with all the blueprints, salvage parts, some additional modules, and at least two of each kind of planetary command center.

problem is no market items, and the "free" corporation public stuff is way above what I have trained for or can fit on a small ship. Smallest right now are 200 mm hybrids that need more power for one turret than the ship has all together. The whicked guy told me to self destruct and leave all my stuff, I wish I had known I was gonna be stranded like this and could have waited for transport.

Well, I wasn't asking for help getting anything, just help figuring out what to fit to tag along with ratters until my Drake tech is up to par. The Cat blowing up, meh, that was most definitely my fault. Was concentrating on salvaging and didn't realize I was getting F'd in the A by a loose rat. No sound and divided attention were at fault there. I just have to pay better attention next time. I'm sure there's something I can do with 30M ISK that allows me to tag along to get the ISK necessary to get into a Drake or whatever once my techs are good; if I wanted to I could just make another Cat salvager, but before I do that I just wanted to know if anyone had a better idea. That's all. I was just asking for advice as to what exactly to look into, I wasn't looking for handouts or for anyone to shoulder my burden.

I wasnt asking for handouts either, I dont know what to do. I get on fill my training queue, and then get frustrated, I havent fleeted with anyone except Havok one time since starting this game, and except for on here or occasional chatting jokes dont directly communicate with anyone. screw it I am done with it. you guys have your fun and I will go find another corporation.
Zulu, there's a few stations in the systems around I-7 that that have a few days waiting time for BPOs, I think I-7 itself is up to like 61 days or something but there are otheres that have days not weeks

I dont get it...jump freight service can be arranged, and its been offered, contracts can be set up remotely.....OR a jump clone installed in I-7, and a deatb clone set in high sec...then pod back to high sec......update clone get to jita, jump clone to I-7, then pod self back to jita...pick up ship....fly back to I-7....its easy, the touhest is the 6 jumps theough low sec to the JB start. It seems like a lot but its actually easy...and no where else are yiu going to find services like that! The corp and allaince that tim got you all into LOVES new guys....they will do what the can to assist, but do not expect to have your hand held at every step. There are tons of posts here on our forums that detail new player stuff and far more on the Goons and alliance sites. As for the decision, Tim made it after much deliberation. If he turned down an offer to join up with the most
Prolific group in the game because of a few folks not being able to get out there in a day...then he would have been a fool! The alliance knows you are all new for the most part, and they are giving you all much slack in getting organized. No where else will you get into a group with such ease....most places require minimum of 15 mill Sps and a large wallet and be able to support yourself.....or so it been that way in EVE since I started way back when. And remember, even a a new guy...you can still be very viable...id rather scout or play bait as a new
Pilot the rat...the chance of looting the field and pulling in 100mill on dead players is better then shooting 1mil rats....also, there are better builds the. Just rifters....merlins are just as good these days and these goons are exploring that now. With that being said...good luck. You'll not find a better run, prolific organization then Goons....but...there is always Eve Uni...which can take a month to be accepted...and you have to move yourself to thier space and folllow strict rules.

If you're equipping hybrid turrets, grab a Merlin. Caldari turret ship. Or one of the Gallente frigates, if you're leaning more that way.
Since then I have gotten my drake and need to get a skill book to load up t2 missile bays. The hard part of null sec is I can't just fly to the market hubs and shop. But guys are always going to hi sec and bring items back for you.

If you (any of you) send me an eve-mail with a shopping list, I will go to Jita and get what I can, within reason. This extends to mainly skill books, and small commodities, as most equipment can be purchased out in Null. Send 'Tim Whicked' the shopping list and I will get with you on a time frame for delivery.

It is not a big deal at all.

Yeah I just got more shield rigging, and working on some other engineering and mechanicals. I am mainly using my cruiser , Vexor for goofing around til I feel ready. Funny I used the wrong jump bridge today and had to take the long way back haha. I was about to rat with some guys, but it was dinner time. I won't risk my drake, until I have had you guys tell me more and review my status. I want to get some Isk built up and get a retriever for mining ops. I think that's more my realm. I want to do fleet ops and rat when guys need another person.

Track down a procurer for solo and small group mining, since it can take a beating. Retriever is good for mining with a larger group, though.

Cool. I will look that one up, due to basically stupidity I am down to 20,000 Isk, I have had some help, but I want to make money myself. I sold off some inventory to make it thus far, but after buying the drake and some skill books I thought I was ready til I saw it was another 14-16 days til that stuff trained up. I need to rat or help mine and make some money. I don't want to be a beggar anymore.
Tonight I tried a different route to hi sec to go make some easy small money, yeah got podded.

Sub drone skills are to 4
Jury Rigging 3
Shield Rigs 4
Heavy Missiles 5
Missile Launcher Ops 5
Bombardment 5
Projection 5
Heavy Missile Specialization 3
Rapid Launch 5
Target Nav Predict 5
All the Nav skills to at least 4 (except jump drive ones)
Long Distance jamming 4
Long Range Targeting 4
Multitask 3 or 4
Prop Jamming 4
Sign Analysis 5
Targeting 5
Battlecruiser 4...better off with 5!
That's your support skills for the Drake! Of course those are optiomal, but you should start putting points into them now. In reality, you need the compensation skills and fast...they buff your tank. You can either beef up your offensive abilities first or your defensive first...the drones and warp jamming can be done at the end....ECM drones are easy to get, you can go with the minimums to get them, and just hang there, they are fodder anyway.
Well I have 6 and tomorrow 7 at 5 so i guess I have a ways to go.

Fleet drakes are shield buffed. But yeah, thats a pretty solid list. Capacitor, navigation, and power grid / cpu would be where I'd suggest you start.

Yeah...shield compensation, thats why I posted them under the shield skills and not mechanic, where armor would go, only a fool would armor tank a drake
Also, advanced weapons upgrades...is better to stop at lv4. Its not really worth the extra point, once all the skills are to what Ive posted, you'll be cap stable.
So my skill planner says I will be ready, August 28th 2013 with all that.

But you forgot to mention it with the armor buffing basic skills you have listed. Might be important to know, if you're trying to prioritize those skills.

Mechanic 5 and Hull Upgrades 5 is a given for all ships.....25% bonus to armor and structure is a no brainer.....it doesn't mean you are tanking, but just adding to your life expectancy once the shields are down....and it is why its spelled out in the top part of the skills sets. Im giving the op the benefit of a doubt that he understood that those damage types where of the shield comp type since.....they are posted in line with shields, that drakes get a shield buff, and that he has the T2/T1 fits in the fittings window....and that it is explicitly spelled out in many other outlets. There are many skills I posted that include other lines, specifically EWAR lines beyond points....just because the primary is recommended to 5 doesnt mean its putting them in the path to something deviating from their original question, however, these skills are needed to open doors to many t2 ships.
Port or Rouge, If further clarification is needed, feel free to ask me, I understand how daunting EVE can be and how it sometimes feels like information overload.
You guys lay it put OK, just a lot of time before the training is done. I was hoping that in 2 weeks I would be drake ready but from your last its 358 days before I'm ready. And I didn't add all the the damage types yet, just 2. I glad tomorrow morning I will be ready to mine barge in mining ops at least. Or I think I am.

Are you using EVEMon to plan? Have you used it to help you tweak your attributes? If not, set up and prioritize your plan, then have EVEMon tell you how to optimize your attributes for the first year of the plan.
Train Cybernetics & buy a set of +3 implants, if you have the funds. If you don't, buy +3 implants for the attributes that EVEMon is telling you to put all your attribute points in.

Eve Mon, excellent tool! Port, dont sweat it, what I posted is for Optimal use! Meaning you will have the best chance of staying in a fight while doing damage...and lots if it. You can easily get to lv3 in damage comp type.....shield....and be ok, you should have the basic skills to 5, but in the mean time, you can easially get the rest to 3 or 4...Then concentrate the basics to 5....since tiu are in fleets, you'll be better then the dude who thinks he's got it figured out in 6 months, soloing or in a small gang.
I have a drake Skill plan for new drake pilots someplace, ill post it up for you once I get back from.....school! I gotta perv out on the new chics...

haha, I have evemon at home, problem is I skill plan on my droid phone, I tried a few apps, but was missing emails and updates, I have aura but cant import the plan from EVEmon that I know of. I am gonna try tonight to get it to my ipad for Neocom. I want to do some mining during the training for the Drake and maybe Ratting with my Cruiser or get another good ship to risk in Ratting. I got podded this weekend in a little frigate cruising around where I really should have been.

I would reccomend to look at the pcertificate reccomendations for flying the drake and that will give u the certificates that they reccomend to earn to make it a excellent ship. I believe all the certificates are standard lvl stuff so it would be no issues to train for those. Also make sure to be training stuff for T2 fleet doctrine stuff as well.

I did that this weekend and noticed I skipped alot of standard level stuff myself. Gotta focus, that's why the skill planner on EVEMon is gonna benefit me. My girlfriend even asked me why I was training something that doesn't even go with what I was working toward. Everyday she asks me if I have skills in my Queue for the day haha. She would be a great gamer if I could get her to sit and try it. She loves helping me figure out stuff.

yeah, I know. Dude she stocks the fridge with my beer blue moon, or blue Mountain dew and already told me she would leave me alone Wed night cause her calendar said my team the cowboys were playing. on Elite Clan op nights she makes sure I have gamer friendly meals and the kids are otherwise occupied. And for Eve she just sits and tells me whats going on and reminds me to use my ECM's .
Is it bad I took the day off to play eve? I finally ratted first time last night and have been doing mining with my procurer and gathering things I need to train or fit.
Game is addicting

Which basic support skills do you recommend?
Now that we have access to the Goonfleet wiki...
Goonfleet has a zip file of "skill packs" which are training plans for EVEMon. They're organized into folders (Ships - Minmatar, Ships - Other, Skills - Support, Skills - Tech2, etc) Within each folder are individual plans that you can import into EVEMon (Stealth Bomber - Hound, Battlecruiser - Hurricane, Skills - Capacitor 1, Skills - Fitting 3, etc)
The ship plans just load all of the skills *required* to fly a particular ship. For instance, to fly a Hound, you aren't *required* to have Cloaking IV, Torpedoes, or Bomb Deployment, but the ship is kinda useless without them. They are not in the Hound plan.
The support skill plans are the sweet spot, though. For instance, you have Support - Capacitor 1, Support - Capacitor 2, and Support - Capacitor 3. Level 1 contains all of the skills that boost your capacitor level or save capacitor by lowering module requirements. A character with zero skills can train Cap1 in < 2 days. Cap2 is an additional 6 days, and Cap3 is another 31 days. You can train to Cap1 quickly, train to Cap2 when you have a week when you're not playing but can monitor your queue, and go to Cap3 when you have a genuine need. (Note that these are the skills that increase the amount of time you can run all modules before your cap drains. Likewise, these are the skills that help you put together "cap stable" fits.) The Fitting 1/2/3 plans are all the skills that buff/save CPU and Grid. There are plans for mining/refining, drone mastery, missiles, survival (HP boosting), targeting, EWar (ECM/Damp/Paint/Disrupt),
and level 1/2/3 plans specifically for Armor and Shield tanking.
If you're on the Goonfleet wiki looking at GF fits, each ship should have a section titled "Recommended Skill Packs". For instance, the Hurricane has an RSP of:
Support - Fitting 1
Support - Gunnery 1
Support - Drones 1
Support - Navigation 1
Support - Capacitor 1
Tanking - Armor 1
All Level 1 packs, so fairly quick to train. You merge the Battlecruiser - Hurricane plan with these plans to create a combined plan, then add in skills as necessary for the modules/weapons of the fit you're going to run. You now have a plan that will put you in a hurricane with GF recommended skills in the shortest amount of time possible (minimum required skills).
Also note, if you're flying an op with reimbursement, and flying a fleet fit specifically so it can be reimbursed, sometimes these skill plans come into play. If the particular fit you're flying is skillfit:yes, and you don't have the skills from the listed plans on the Goonwiki ship page, you will NOT be reimbursed.

Also, I should point out the reason I responded to the original question with all that.
If you track down the GF skill packs, I would train capacitor, fit, survival, navigation, and armor/shield tank as the "basic" requirements. Train them ALL to level 1, then train them ALL to level 2 while mixing in skills for tackle fits or indy fits to have something to do. Once you've got them all at level 2, start looking at bigger ships up to battlecruisers and the skills to fit them out properly. Mix the basic level 3 skills in with the skills you're training for your next main fit, or train support skills to level 3 when you're not working towards a specific goal and just want general improvement of all fits.

I like that strategy and thanks for the link, I forget about goon,
