Whoops.

The initial impact I wouldn't have had a hard time believing they both survived but after he pulled back up and lost the tail and went spiraling back to earth.... Damn that had to hurt a bit at least.

Either way you look at it. The warrant officer who was flying this, if he survived, probably lost his job in the military and will probably never fly again. What an idiot for not only risking his life but also those who where in the surrounding area. Show boating or not. You don't do those kinds of things to boost morale or for personal enjoyment. I do, however; think it would have been an epic showcase if he didn't slam into the ground and crash the helo

You know what I watched this again, and it looked like there were several people standing where he first hit the ground. If no one was hurt, than that was a miracle!! I agree with you Rob, that was pretty stupid to do!

Holy shit. I didn't see the part in the beginning where the Helo crashed right on top of a person. If you stop the video at the 24 second mark you see the helo either hitting a person or nearly missing him. Imagine how much the government spent to get the beast up and rolling. I'm pretty sure the Unit took a huge hit on that too. Ha, and whoever signed for the Helo is probably fucked lol

yeah that happen here in afghan land a while ago at a fob/cob.. the pilot was attempting a RTT.. Return To Target.. as i remember reading the report everyone survived but i think both pilots got a letter of reprimand and their wings pulled (which means they where requested to get the f*ck out of the army).. Apache's.. hotdogging in the mountains.. "your doing it wrong!!"

IDK it was rated as a Class A accident but that's anything over 2 mil... it didnt say anything about ground fatalities..

If you watch the video real closely, you can see a person who looks like they got slammed by the end of the Helo. Hope he's alright

No way that guy survived that! Looks like he was hit by the rear rotor.

Tried watching it frame by frame and can't tell if he actually got hit or flopped just in time, and also there's a couple frames where the camera pans back to his area next to what looks like the mini Hesco.... Can't tell if he's still on the ground or if that's him running. I think the guy running is the guy that was to the right of him before the helo came in, but I just can't tell.

If the tail and/or rotor did hit him, good night.

Either way. Surviving or not, that's one jacked up situation. If I where the family's of the person who was hit, I would sue the fuck out the government. Oh wait, NM. He's covered under his SGLI. Fuck that shit.
