According to the article, a single corp can have both DUST and EVE members.
We might need the USMG corp back sooner than we thought.

How is Dust different than EVE? I mean, I understand instead of flying around in ships you are walking around in an avatar (at least I think that is what I understand)....but what I mean is the progression of the game. Is it still skills, gear, multiple career paths, etc? My thought is, as a brand new player in EVE, I may be able to make more progress in Dust if I am not competing against people who have 5 solid years on me.

Not really sure, but Dust is a PS3-only game. So unless you want to go buy one, you're out of luck.

Next week the next build patch comes out called codex its coming with the corps so we need to start working on Corp on the dusk I knw I been playing nothing but this so we needto get more ppl on here
I might check it out again... But I really want to wait, till the official release in December. You know, when the lag issues as well hit detection are polished to where they should be.

Unconfirmed... but that has been the projected release, that's being reported by some media outlets.

Also, in that release each race gets a new destroyer. Most like eirher for planetary bombardment or delivering drop ships.
I was looking through the database that they publish for fan sites, and there are new graphics in there that imply that some ships will have space reserved for marines.

yeah prob dec does make sence i know for beta the build comes tomorrow for corps so well will be comm with the corpsn stuff to bad its just beta cant wait for release n get on eve server

Alright, sorry I have not been involved in this thread thus far. I do believe that with the new release for EVE (which will be Dec 14th as far as I know) which i also believe is the release date for DUST 514.
Now, as for the corporation, I am confident that USMG/First United Brotherhood is not capable of being strong enough to stand with the C0NVICTED Alliance. So, I have spoken with the other leadership for Risk Breakers and we have all agreed that in order to provide sufficient support for the DUST side it will be best if you guys to fall under the Risk Breakers banner.
The Main Reasons for this:
1) Risk Breakers has a large enough wallet that we can assist you guys in equipment, modules, etc.
2) We are already established in Null-Sec (Granted USMG/FUB would be but this will require less transition)
3) We have Dreadnoughts, Carriers, and other large vessels in Risk Breakers that we will not have direct access to if we are in USMG/FUB (Which will be needed to provide Planetary Bombardment)
4) I am one of the top leaders in Risk Breakers, and I can guarantee you that I am taking point on the DUST corp, and I will not allow you guys to be left unprovided.
5) I am tired of switching around between corporations.
So, now that I have made my case, I want to see what you guys that are going to be in DUST think. I am always open for consideration, and I can always make FUB a part of C0NVICTED(Alliance) I am just confident that it will delay the DUST side of the house.

a) I don't see why not
b) EVE alts won't matter in DUST
Play EVE in one corp and DUST in another. Just have the integrity to not "pick sides" if there's ever a situation where your EVE corp and DUST corp are on opposites sides of a surface battle. (If it were me, I'd play EVE, and just avoid the battle.)

I'm gonna go with Timmy on this. He has laid the groundwork for us and quite frankly... knows the in's and out's of the game. He has also invested countless hours into it, to make sure we have an equal footing with the other corps.
Well I am rookie in eve on the south lo sec and I can do dust with USMG guys in north lo sec. I don't forsee ever battling since rookie is mainly new guys and hi sec

According to the email I just received, merc corps went into DUST with the update this past Monday.
Tim, my one concern is the straight FPS, non-EVE guys here at USMG. We're already struggling with their reaction to the skill system, they may just decide not to bother with it at all if they won't be playing under the USMG banner. And we really want these FPS experts in our DUST corp.

OK, so I just logged in to check it out.
I used corp search. I was able to find both Risk Breakers and FUB. However, it works better if you type in the corp tag (EXOP for Risk Breakers, USMG1 for FUB.) Searching with "Risk" did NOT find Risk Breakers, and searching with USMG did NOT find FUB.
I might create an alt account just to create a holding corp for USMG usage once we decide we want the tag back.
I don't see how this is going to be an issue. we'll still recruit under the USMG brand and we'll still have our independence... we'll just be rolling under an alliance banner.

Eve isn't like WoW, where you can hit skill cap in two or three weeks and be doing end-game content in a month and a half.

With me taking a break from EVE i believe whole heartedly that the DUST portion of our EVE Corp will just be USMG and recruitment will be strickly USMG.

I am thinking that low numbers will be playing this game. We need more then just 10 or 20 guys playing dusk so i am thinking to go Timmy route n run there banner. But still have the usmg banner on hold just in case a alt char can do this. Well, like i said, this is just my stand point. I respect what you are saying, and I see where your concerns lie. I just think that my proposition is the best route. I do agree with Ironhide, we should keep USMG on stand-by maybe have a secondary account on PS3 get the USMG clan tag and hold it, that way if this is not playing out to our plan we can revert to USMG. And about the recruitment, although we are playing under the name of Risk Breakers all of the members will be USMG, and all members brought in through these means will register and apply etc. to this website. As far as I can tell Risk Breakers is singularly PC and even more so they are only on EVE. This means that they are not actively recruiting for PS3 players.

Or at least fall under the Umbrella of First United Brotherhood, that way if we in EVE decide to come back to that corporation you will have pilots to support you.
As far as I have been able to tell, DUST corporations that have no counterpart in EVE will act as Mercenaries. That could turn out to be rather profitable as well if you decide to stay a DUST only corp under the USMG banner, and just take contracts from other EVE corporations. I do know that EVE pilots will be able to purchase equipment for DUST (Templars) so my assumption is that if I purchase [equipment] I can then contract [equipment] to you guys the same way we do it in EVE. So, there is still the possibility that I/we (if anyone else wants to donate their hard earned ISK) could be shadow backers for the DUST crew.
Just my two cents, I am sorry that I threw a wrench into the cogs, but changes are inevitable in this game, you will come to find that out.

I have not. I didn't think we could until the game actually released. If you want to, go right ahead. USMG Contracting or USMG Ground Division are what I would use, those are just suggestions of course.
