This new store design was supposed to launch on the 23rd, but it looks like they're gonna delay it a little here in North America.

Take a Look Inside the New PlayStation Store
+ Posted by Eric Lempel // VP, Sony Network Entertainment

Last week we gave you a sneak peek of the completely redesigned PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3. Along with the re-imagined user interface, we added predictive search and improved filtering to make finding content easier and faster. The new store also offers more in-depth information about games, add-ons and apps, as well as movies and TV shows, letting you browse and discover new types of content effortlessly.

The redesigned PlayStation Store launches in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Brazil on October 23. In the meantime you can get a taste of what’s coming in this walkthrough video:

The new PlayStation Store for PS3 was designed from the ground up to enhance the entire user experience based on the feedback we received from you, our loyal fans.

Please note: This video was created using a near-final version of the new PlayStation Store. Some content, categories, or pricing may be different than the Store you’ll experience next week.

Update on the New PlayStation Store
+ Posted by Eric Lempel // VP, Sony Network Entertainment

As you may know, we launched the new PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 earlier this week in Australia, New Zealand and several countries in Europe. Although the new PS Store is operating smoothly in most countries, there have been some issues that caused inconvenience for users.

While we’ve already solved many of these issues, we’ve decided to postpone the October 23rd launch of the new store in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. We want to be certain that you have an exceptional experience with the new store, so we appreciate your patience as we complete the final phases before launch.

We’ll update you as soon as a new release date has been set. Until then, the existing PS Store will be fully operational with the game, movie and TV content that you enjoy today.
Thanks again for your patience.

It's about time! The old layout/funcitonality is complete garbage.

It is definitely time for this, they even just said that they wanted to make sure that if you knew what you were looking for you should be able to easily go right to it.

I can't tell you how many times I have been looking for one specific thing (usually DLC for a older game) and it's been way more of a hunt than you would think it should or would be.

I'm really looking forward to the redesign.

*fingers crossed*

Just got a chance to use it this weekend. Much easier to get around and find specific things. Long overdue though IMO

i'm on the fence about the new design. I personally had absolutely no problem navigating the old design and knew exactly how to get to everything fast and easy. Now the new setup is...well new so it is taking getting used to. It's more visual for sure but i liked the way it used to be where every week i could go on there and select the what's new section and get a whole list of what is new that week. now it's split up into sections so i have to go to PS3>Games>new to see what's new in that category, then PS3>demos>new to see what new demos are out, then PS3>add ons>new to see what new DLC is out.....I guess since I didn't see what issues other people were having navigating the old format i don't in turn understand what advantage the new layout gives us other than the obvious visual display.

P.S. I know when you first open the store you can press right and browse the new "hot" stuff in a shiny visual format but that only shows a small portion of what's new that week so i didn't overlook this feature, i just don't find it helpful for my browsing style

I understand where you're coming from. I didn't use the store very often though. The new one is more noobified but for me that's a good thing in this case.
