So, if you have not bee keeping up on the DUST side of this conversation check it out HERE. (http://forums.usmilitarygamers.com/showthread.php?9392-Corporations-Coming-to-DUST)

I think that in the event that our DUST side decides to start their own stand-alone corporation we should buy them a "Welcome Gift" guns, armor, mods, ammo, etc. This way they can have an upper-hand in their first runs as a corporation.

I am willing to donate ISK to this, and I would like to see others help. We can assemble a list of what they will likely need, run it by them and see if there is anything they want to add, and just buy what we can, and contract it over to the CEO of their corporation (so (s)he can distribute it).

Let me know what you think and look through the market under the Infantry Equipment section and see what we can do to start a shopping list.

I'll start looking into it tonight, and will happily contribute.

I'll also start working on ships when they finally add the new ones.

If there is genuine interest in DUST, I need replies to this thread... Is there a POC for a USMG Dust group? If there is, can I get that individual to either reply in this thread or via pm here on the forum. It would be nonsense for us not to work together!

Thanks in advance...

I have played some, but was a little overwhelmed. I'm in if we want to give it a go.

I was thinking of paying the 19.99 for instant beta access, to check it out.

I didn't like DUST 514 all that much to be honest. It's not user friendly at all...just like EVE. The combat is ok, but the equipment set-up for the soldier is just like fitting a ship in EVE. If you didn't like EVE, you won't like DUST

o rly... that's unfortunate.. so you can't really just jump in and start fraggin'?

there are basic layouts just like Call of duty or Battlefield, you can customize if you want. It just is more about power or cpu usage and certain things fit in certain slots, takes more work and can be frustrating, honestly in Dust when i played I used the basic setups the whole time

You can but, like Port said, you'd only be using the basic load outs they provide. Now here's the bullshit, if you use the in game currency you get from every match to buy new equipment, THAT EQUIPMENT GETS USED UP WHEN YOU DIE. So if I see a badass assault rifle I want to use, and only buy 1, then when I die it goes with me and I'm back to the shitty starter weapon. In the beta I was buying tons and tons of weapons, armor and equipment only to piss it away by dying in game.

I get that they want it to be like EVE and make it ultra realistic in terms of resource management, but that just takes all the fun out of it for me

This MUST stop if the game is to be viable. I get they are making it Eve-esque, but the only people DUST will pull in if they do this are current and/or former Eve players looking for something a little new and not wanting to re-learn an entire system.

IMO, they need to make it MORE like an FPS with elements of Eve, not Eve with elements of an FPS. I get that in eve if your ship goes, your gear/mods do to, but you aren't supposed to die as often in Eve as you would in the craziness of a true, good FPS. IF they were to make you re-purchase your gear, honestly they would need to drop the prices so stupid low, it might as well be free, OR let you keep your gear (maybe with the exception of some special items like a disposable nitrogen tank (made that up- just an example) for faster running. If they let you keep the gear, then the cost should be more expensive.

Now- having said all of that- I believe vehicles, once destroyed, should have to be repurchased, but they ought to take a lot more damage than a human could withstand (just like in RL-ish).

After reading all comments here and in other places, DUST really really needs a re-tooling if it is going to be viable.

Noticed today that your even toon can buy infantry equipment for the dust players and hand it over. I was in Jita and saw some really cheap equip.

I just received an email saying the Open beta for Dust opens up Tuesday 1/22. I played some last night and the game play is much better, but the equipment loadout and usage hasn't changed any.

Agreed and they should lower the equipment prices but they are tying it to tightly to eve because after seeing everything everyone has been saying and looks like they are just adding it on for eve players and everyone else the fun is slowly being killed

I think it will be fine, as soon as the Corps start spending money on the grunts, or getting blueprints to build equipment for the grunts. If you get backed, I think you'll be fine, at it can still be enjoyable.

I think I'm going to send my self some ISK or something. I guess it's one of the benefits of having a character in both games.
