After his admission of having an affair, General David Petraeus resigns. He will not be testifying privately or publicly about the Benghazi cover up. Link to full story to follow shortly. Stay tuned for updates, as this story is still breaking!

I bet a bunch of conspiracy theories come out because of this.... Sad to hear great leader for the war on terrorism is done.. When I was in Bosnia and he only had one star, he was one of the few we flew around all the time on any given notice

There's so many things going on with this; I just read (though it's not officially confirmed, due to just *anonymous sources*) that apparently he had carried on an affair with his biographer, and as a CIA director, an extramarital affair is a possible breach of security....

Like this is THE FIRST ONE that's ever happened!?

Please. This is all just BS. I can understand Petraeus being all honorable, but, seriously!? He's the third CIA director to be canned. And Sec Def Panetta is on his way out as well. Everyone seems to be jumping ship with this administration....

Something wrong?

Agreed, way to many moves since BHO came in. To add, I am also not buying the "lighter, eliter" military. JSOC is great and all, but they are not ground seizers or holders....we still need grunts with bayonets, tanks, and helos. Every time we downsize like this...someone comes around and shellacks us.

Agreed, we just need to send in a letter to the JCOS and say we got a great advisor for them and send Kopfe to them lol. But i agree with everyone, too much moving pieces going on here right after the election, something is up here. I smell something fishy and its not the air here in Korea.

It's way too convenient for him now to just come up out of the blue with an affair. Now I guess he wont testify about the Benghazi attack. No, that sounds like great timing for the affair news to just pop up.

He now is exempt from testifying...his replacement will testify in his place...convenient? I agree.

Honestly? They think the American people are that stupid.......because as a whole they are. People are more concerned with the free handout today than with the cost it incurs tomorrow.

Yeah I know it is unfortunate, but you are absolutely correct though. It pains me to admit that, but most Americans are stupid... We are quickly entering into the welfare state and most always looks into everything as what's in it for them.

Agreed. There is a sad lack of common sense, a complete inability to think logically, and a willingness to swallow almost anything that is labeled as "news". Americans are stupid, stupid, stupid.

Interesting article here. Make your own opinion on it once you read it:

I like how something like 90% of the responses are trying to claim that it's all innocent, or deflect it towards another topic.

After further reading, I also like how the whole issue on this specific article is apparently just a Republic trying to dig up conspiracies....as apparently all these people forgot to read past the first paragraph.

About all I can say is that this further shows just how stupid the American people as a whole are. They care more about (R) and (D) than what's actually going on.

Okay, read some more comments, and....yeah, people are so fucking stupid it's utterly pathetic. People need to learn to read before they actually comment on something.

"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Freud. It is easy to see conspiracy in everything. He just may have had an affair and feels bad about it.

Yeah, sometimes a cigar is a cigar, but every once in a while it was used for purposes other than smoking.......

If he's just feeling guilty....why now, days before he's supposed to testify on an issue that stinks worse than my daughter's last diaper?

Now there is another girl being probed (ha, ha) by the FBI. My thoughts after looking this Kelly girl up I say she is an Israel spy, from a Lebanese family that immigrated to the US ( that for you all that wear tin foil on your head so they can't read your minds) or they are all part of a very high price escort service that the pentagon pays to keep senior generals happy new book 4 stars of gray.
