Battlefield: Bad Company 2 brings Onslaught as as the game reaches 5 million

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has officially exceeded 5 million units sold world wide. Thanks to everyone who has supported Battlefield and bought a copy. In other good news we can officially announce Onslaught mode coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.



Onslaught is bringing co-op gameplay to Battlefield for the first time on console. The new game mode puts you and up to three friends against the enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay – redesigned with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects. Each map has a dedicated gameplay focus, requiring different levels of teamwork in order to complete the objectives against an onslaught of enemy AI. Vehicle warfare comes to the forefront in Atacama Desert while Nelson Bay focuses squarely on infantry assault. Players can compete in squads and check individual progress via the dedicated Onslaught leaderboards.

Senior Producer Patrick Bach had these few words to say about Onslaught mode “We want to consistently support the fans playing the game with new ways to get into multiplayer and also challenge the elite players with new experiences to improve their performance online. Effective squad play is the key to success in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer and this new mode will provide players with a dedicated environment to test their team skills and rank against the competition.”



Onslaught mode will be available on Xbox Live and on the PlayStation Network.

I'm sure they will charge for this. They said dlc maps would always be free for VIP members but this is a new mode of play so it's a loophole. :lol: Hopefully less than $10 but who knows.

I really hate those videos they dont show anything during gameplay u dont get a feel for really what it is..but sounds a little nice..but only playing AI would be boring after a couple of time playing it ..IMO

adding a new game mode is great news ... I agree 10 or under would be well worth it ... free even better *LOL*

Sounds awsome I just wish there would be new maps not the same ones over and over again. I understand that it takes time for them to make new maps but Im sure they could at least give us a little teaser to get our hopes up.

I bought this last night and played a round real quick. I though it was awesome and the AI is actually pretty good!! We lost 2 of the only rounds I played. I would like to try it out with some of you guys. Let me know if any of you end up getting it and want to try it out. I will be game to jump in there with you just send me an invite.

I had about exactly the experience that db did .. and was very pleased with the AI ... we all know how stupid some bots can be ... these enemies reacted, attracted, and made ya think.

My only complaint was that I had to suffer through my game with 3 ass clown kids who just would not shut up or say anything even remotely useful. I missed my UMG homies...

Well worth the 10 bucks IMOH.

Thanks to wileycoyte, martigra, and Saviger for the help completing all the onslaught missions!! It was look of fun and that one mission with the island in the middle was a bitch. :lol: The others weren't to hard. Man now I really wish they sold that pack with all the maps set up for onslaught. We should try it sometime on hard if anyone is up for it. Normal was still a pretty good challenge.
