So I was promoted to First Class Petty Officer... Not sure how one is supposed to say that. I know I should be amped... and I am. But, I have yet to answer to First Class Select yet. I have been trying to figure out my next move but I am drawing a blank. I have no clue what is next for me to try and take on. I hope it doesn't stay this way the entire time. For those out there with some serious time in, what was that stagnant rank for you guys and gals? What was the rank that you seemed lost on what was next to do?

I don't understand about not knowing what your "next move" is...? You mean laterally or vertically, or get out? Or are there other options in the Navy as you rank up?

Right after I got out, my MOS turned stagnant from top to bottom. I think it was in preparation to merge two MOSes but AFAIK it hasn't loosened up. But I wouldn't have had to deal with it anyway as my Re-up papers were also lat move papers to 0211/0251, where promotions were a dime a dozen.

Congrats on the promotion though! What's the wet down tab going to be?

I just got promoted this last June too and so far my stagnant rank was SSG. I have technically been promoted early comparatively but it is what it is. I was told when I was growing up in 3rd bn to always prepare for the next job above since you might have to be that guy so take the guy who is charge of you figure out what he does and do it better. Then tell him your better. Owned

I found out I am in the below zone fpr Gunny, which means I'll probably be in the zone next year....its only taken me about 18 years! Belligerence get you no where.....
