Make a Sound project

I just wanted to start a thread for anyone who might be interested in what we're doing, or if you want to come on here and share a story of you or someone you know who was affected by depression/suicide. I'm so happy that USMG and MAS has teamed up together. For those of you who don't know we work with bands to reach out and spread our suicide awareness program and we're currently trying to get MAS implemented into the military.

If you want to help team with Make a Sound you really could make a huge difference. You could help us spread our message around your post and save your battles lives. This is something I take very seriously and it would be so awesome to know that people believe in what we do and even one life saved would mean the world.

I'll volunteer to do anything to help. My dad is serverly affected by depression, and I also had a close friend who I went through basic with who commited suicide over the summer, so this touches home. I'm active in my Veterans at WVU, which is a group at my university that is for prior military reservists or national guard, and I'm sure they can benefit from some material, also since this is a major university which sees many music festivals, bands, and performances I think that it would be great to contact the neccasary department at the university to see if you can team up with them, we could also do some promoting around the university and I could spread the word to my air force auxiliary squadron where there is a huge influx of networking opportunities.

Mike is still running with the project. He is hurting for some funding but I was wondering if we had any ideas to help him out. In the military we deal with suicide more than we should and it is a serious issue. If you get a chance we all should share some USMG love and try and spread the word.

Maybe consider helping him start a kickstarter?

i know of an org that we might want to support its called Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America, IAVA.org would that be a possibility? its a great organization that helps with the care of vet from those two conflicts!

The whole operation... no. I couldn't possibly devote that time and I don't know if we have anyone that can. Plus he is the one who directly has all bands signed etc.

He gets bands and as many celebrities to sign on and represent his project. You would have to check his site just to see what people he has. But he said he needs lots of funding and he needs support. I didn't realize it was just him pretty much. His staff that helped him pretty much hasn't done much lately.

I was hoping to have us do a Kick Start for our community. Then maybe in the future we could directly reach out to assist the worthy causes.
