If this wasn't a day 1 purchase... It should be now!EA and People Can Fly's Bulletstorm features "intense instances of violence" and "numerous jokes and comments that reference... having sex with one's own mother".
That's according to an ESRB age rating for the game in the US, which features a description we implore you to read in your head.
(Or not read at all if you're easily offended. It gets an 'M' for Mature from the ESRB - and it's a very big 'M'...)
The classification body reports: "This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a space pirate who must escape a planet populated by mutant cannibals. Players use futuristic machine guns, shotguns, magnum revolvers, assault rifles, and chain guns to perform over-the-top kills that dismember and decapitate foes. Injured enemies emit large sprays of blood that stain the ground and surrounding walls.
"Specialty kills (i.e., Skillshots) represent the most intense instances of violence: enemies can be dismembered with explosives; impaled on spikes; and drilled into walls, resulting in body parts breaking into pieces. During the course of the game, players can consume alcohol and kill enemies in order to receive an Intoxicated Skillshot; the screen turns blurry during these sequences. The dialogue contains numerous jokes and comments that reference sexual acts, venereal diseases, and having sex with one's mother (e.g., "Guess I know where the ol' gal got that limp."). The names of some Skillshots are infused with sexual innuendo (e.g., Gag Reflex, Rear Entry, Drilldo, Mile High Club); one Skillshot (i.e., Fire in the Hole) allows players to shoot at enemies' exposed buttocks. Language such as "f**k," "sh*t," "p*ssy," and "c*ck" can be heard in dialogue."
Fire in the hole, solider. Fire in the hole.
The FPS has been created by PCF in tandem with Epic Games and, despite all of its grisly content, is looking really rather lovely.
On this side or the other, we will meet once again.
Where did you read that? I hadn't heard such craziness... No MP=RENT!
On this side or the other, we will meet once again.
hmmm......
well borderlands was only co-op and i still really enjoyed it so it may be the same in this game. The small PvP option borderlands had was pretty lame anyways and i rarely utilized it so i didn't really consider it even existing but i suppose they could always tack on a similar gameplay mechanic to bulletstorm if that's what the people want
Gaming is staying up 'til 3am to earn a trophy that isn't real.......BUT IS
it looks fun exciting and a refreshing new type of game!! i cant wait!!

Demo coming out Jan 25th
Ign.com
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - People Can Fly, Epic Games and Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) today announced a demo for Bulletstorm, the highly anticipated new action shooter from the makers of the award-winning Gears of War and Unreal series of games. Starting on January 25, the demo will give players a taste of the guns, action and attitude Bulletstorm has to offer, with Entertainment Weekly describing Bulletstorm as "an intense, outrageous shooter," and Seth Schiesel from the New York Times stating, "the name should say it all; big guns, lots of lead and over-the-top mayhem."
Bulletstorm ships with three game modes: the pulp sci-fi, single-player campaign; Anarchy multiplayer mode; and Echo mode, a unique experience that tracks and compares players' scores while they play through locations found in the campaign. The Bulletstorm demo introduces a slice of Echo mode in which players traverse a collapsed building on the deadly paradise planet Stygia as ex-Dead Echo leader Grayson Hunt. Players will utilize the "Skillshot" system in Bulletstorm as they crush enemies in increasingly creative ways to rack up points using an arsenal of powerful weapons, from a futuristic assault rifle called the Peace Maker Carbine, to the Flail Gun, which fires two grenades linked by a chain, and the Screamer, a powerful revolver that turns enemies into human fireworks.
From highest score to total number of skillshots performed, players can compete with their friends for bragging rights in Echo mode as they decimate enemies with over-the-top combat moves using some of the most innovative weapons ever seen in a first-person shooter. With more than 45 skillshots in the demo, players are encouraged to "Kill with Skill" in Bulletstorm, finding stylish and ever imaginative ways to take down anyone that stands in their way. The Bulletstorm demo also allows players to unlock platform-specific upgrades* to use in the game's Anarchy mode, from the Crimson Leash to Stealth Armor, when they purchase the full game.
The Bulletstorm demo will be available for download January 25 on Xbox LIVET Marketplace Worldwide and the PlayStation Network in North America. The demo will be available on January 26 on PlayStation Network in Europe. Poised to be one of 2011's most original games, the Bulletstorm Epic Edition will be available for the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system and grant early access to the Gears of War 3 beta as well as additional bonus content in-game**.
