PS3 fiber optic cable

Ok guys,
I tried to hook my ps3 to my receiver with a fiber optic cable and I can't get any sound.
I changed the setting for optic cable on the ps3.
Any body have any tips?

Some of the PS3 optical audio formats might not work with your reciever so you have to figure out which one and un-check it. I had that problem once with the original Bad Company game. If not that then I have no idea. I just use my LCDs optical out instead of the PS3 now.

I use a Dual out for my audio. I have HDMI out to my TV and I also have the original cords supplied with the PS3
and I run those to my Vizio Speaker Bar. I have not tried to use the Optical Out, sorry.

i have not used fiber either but Cajun's theory seems probable. You may just have to go through and select each format individually to figure out which ones are and are not compatible.
