All I have to say to this game is "DAAAAAMN!!" I picked up the first InFamous from the freebie selection that Sony offered for the Welcome Back program, and I really enjoyed it. They offered InFamous 2 as a digital download shortly after the disc version hit the shelves, so I took the bait and bought it.
I've already beaten the first version on 1st and 2nd playthroughs for both good and evil (getting the platinum en route), and I just finished my first playthrough on InFamous 2. If you played InFamous 1 but not picked up 2, you need to do so. The graphics are better, the mechanics are better, the story is great, and to top it off...the humor is fantastic.
If you own a PS3, I highly recommend picking up these games. They are VERY good.
By the way, I love the subtle humor directed at other games that are referenced as movie titles in this game, such as:
Assassins Need (Love Too)
Uncharted Love
Hey Low Reach
Epic Hickey
No Need For Speed
Little Big Unit
Latch It and Skank
Sly
Call of Booty
Hush
Solid Serpent, The Man, The Movie
Bottom line: Both InFamous games are worth your time and money. Enjoy!

I just finished up my evil play-through on hard mode. "Hard" was not really hard...more like "extra tough medium". Nonetheless, I got the platinum trophy wrapped up on this one now.
It's a good thing the user generated content will still keep coming, especially on account of the fact that I bought the digital download version and can't "trade it in". Some of it that I played through was good, some was awful, and some was downright tough. I made one level of my own based on a template just for kicks. It's going to take some time to get level development down to a fine art, but shouldn't be too hard.
I'd discuss the possibility of a third title here, but I don't want to divulge any spoilers for anyone getting the game. Nonetheless, this is a great title for any PS3 library. It's right up there with Assassin's Creed and God of War in terms of compelling action/adventure games with good stories, IMO.

SOURCE: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/...le-now-on-psn/The very first inFAMOUS 2 User-Generated Content Pack is available now on the Playstation Network, and it’s completely free! In the coming weeks and months, we will be releasing more free content updates that will add new objects to User Generated Content (UGC). In this first of many UGC updates, you’ll gain access to a number of vehicles from the single-player missions of inFAMOUS 2: Bertrand’s Limo, Bertrand’s Semi-Truck, the New Marais Police Car, the Ambulance, and a bike. Heal injured pedestrians from the flipped over ambulance and protect them from the swarm of enemies. Help the New Marais Police department from incoming attack from the Vermaak 88 Ice Soldiers. Or hunt down that pesky bicycle thief.
Over 50,000 user-created missions have been submitted to inFAMOUS 2 and you’ll need a way to find the missions you want to play. We are happy to announce Missions Search: Simply pause the game, bring up your UGC menu, and search by any term you wish, including PSN user names.
New to UGC? Be sure to check out the inFAMOUS 2 UGC tutorial videos that guide you through the tech and concepts behind great UGC missions. These tutorials will help guide you in creating missions, understanding how logic boxes work, setting waypoints, implementing triggers, and more. Take a look at the first video in the series, Getting Started with UGC.
Stay tuned to infamousthegame.com and the official PlayStation.Blog for future updates on inFAMOUS 2. Also follow us on Twitter, @SuckerPunchProd, and check out our Facebook Page.

YAY! More InFamous! Awesome sauce!
This release calls it "DLC", but it also says you do not need either of the first two games for it....technically making it a stand alone game.
inFAMOUS 2 DLC: Festival of Blood Drowns PSN in October
+ Posted by Ken Schramm // Sucker Punch Productions
Hello there PlayStation.Blog readers! Hopefully, all of you inFAMOUS fans have had a chance to play plenty of the UGC missions since our June launch. Here’s a fun fact: Players have spent a total of 451,251 hours – or 51 years – playing those UGC missions. While those missions have kept you entertained, it’s now time for a major DLC announcement.
inFAMOUS 2 Festival of Blood will be a brand new standalone single player DLC for download via PSN. Vampires swarm New Marais, and revered superhero Cole MacGrath has been bitten. To save his soul – and the city – he has just one night to find and kill the head vampire. Featuring new missions, themed environment settings, plus new characters and enemies, Festival of Blood explores the darker side of the inFAMOUS universe. Previous inFAMOUS games will not be needed to play this DLC.
The DLC will swarm PSN in October, in time for Halloween. In the meantime, here is the first piece of high-res art and a new video teaser trailer during Pyre Night in New Marais. Enjoy!

The article also mentions new DLC for LBP2 that is also Move compatible.

I know we're all wrapped around the axle with BF3 coming on Tuesday, but there will be other titles released that day as well....most of which will get overlooked for obvious reasons. However, the "Festival of Blood" DLC will also be available that same day. Here's a preview:
Original Source (with additional pictures): http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/...ood-on-tuesdayinFAMOUS: Festival of Blood will be available on the PlayStation Store in just a couple days: Tuesday, October 25th in North America for $9.99, and $7.99 for PlayStation Plus members (you can even pre-order now on the PlayStation Store). Play it with the classic DualShock or try it out with PlayStation Move support!
Before you get your hands on the game, we had Animation Director Billy Harper and Marketing Director Ken Schramm pack their bags for a whirlwind three-day tour spanning 5,668 miles, two coasts, three cities, and over 20 interviews with press from North America and beyond. It was an amazing couple of days of sharing the latest adventure in the inFAMOUS universe.
We have been pretty quiet about Festival of Blood since we teased you with a clip revealing Bloody Mary at PAX. Since then we have been hard at work crafting this next adventure, adding in all the final details and finishing touches on this standalone game to make the perfect purchase right in time for Halloween. This press tour allowed us to pull the curtain back and give one big preview before the game comes out next week. Billy and Ken covered tons of the new features in Festival of Blood, some of which we will cover here.
With a totally new story in Festival of Blood, of course we had to give Cole a totally new set of powers. One power that fans have always wanted in an inFAMOUS game has been the ability to fly, and with Festival of Blood we thought it was time to give Cole the chance to spread his wings. Bat wings, that is, with a new power called Shadow Swarm. While Shadow Swarm allows you to experience New Marais in a whole new way, it does come at the expense of the innocent people walking around in the night as you must feed upon them to fuel your flight.
Speaking of Pyre Night, all of New Marais celebrates this hallowed night by shrouding the entire city with banners, fireworks, and pedestrians dressing up in the streets. The look of the Pyre Night comes from Sucker Punch’s City Team spending the summer dreaming up the spooky street party that features surprises around every corner. The abandoned subway lines of New Marais have been converted to macabre underground catacombs. Stepping into these dark corridors would leave anyone unsettled, even more so when you find out that Bloody Mary’s minions have been crawling around inside them for years.
User-generated content (UGC) is a key part of the inFAMOUS universe, as you can see from our Cole’s Missing Mission Contest (the grand prize winner receives a $1,000 PlayStation Store gift card!), and we haven’t forgotten this feature with Festival of Blood. Over the last couple of months we have been listening to your feedback and playing all the missions we can from the community and the one thing we have been seeing is the desire to create strong narrative missions. To help users tell their stories, we are happy to add the new 2D cutscene tool with Festival of Blood that allows you to create comic book-inspired cutscenes in your missions. You now can create intro sequences, provide key story details mid-mission, or end your mission with a bang. Along with the 2D cutscene Tool, Festival of Blood brings a whole new set of gory assets to the UGC universe and you can now design missions with as many fiends and harpies as you want.
