I'm currently in a Fedora / RHEL class and loving it. So I made this thread for those who throw around terms like Gnome, sudo and root.

I went through a linux "phase". Ever since I switched to Mac though I really haven't messed with it. Really no need to since OSX is unix based anyway. I used quite a few different distros but the best I ever came across hands down was ArchLinux.
I am trying to forge throught with Ubuntu, I am doing a trial by fire. It is easy to use I am just having issues with keeping it connected to the internet. Do you guys have any suggestions? I would really like to use Ubuntu, at least for the experience. :ugeek:

also the ubuntu forums are an excellent resource

Dont forget about IRC as a support resource. #ubuntu on Freenode. As I remember the ubuntuers are pretty helpful and not as elitist as some of the other communities. I just checked, and #ubuntu weighs in as the largest channel on freenode with some ~1400 members.
