    Linux Discussion

I'm currently in a Fedora / RHEL class and loving it. So I made this thread for those who throw around terms like Gnome, sudo and root.

to start a bit of geek humor:

    Re: Linux Discussion

I've used RedHat, Fedora, Ubunto, Mandrake, CentOS, Debian, Knoppix, and SUSE.

I'm most familiar with CentOS and Debian.

    Re: Linux Discussion

I went through a linux "phase". Ever since I switched to Mac though I really haven't messed with it. Really no need to since OSX is unix based anyway. I used quite a few different distros but the best I ever came across hands down was ArchLinux.

    Re: Linux Discussion

Dont forget about IRC as a support resource. #ubuntu on Freenode. As I remember the ubuntuers are pretty helpful and not as elitist as some of the other communities. I just checked, and #ubuntu weighs in as the largest channel on freenode with some ~1400 members.
