    Rolling Thunder 2010

My mom sent me this email and I had to share. All I could say was wow and it was moving for me.

3000 vets on motorcycles from across the USA paraded in D.C. the Sunday before Memorial Day, while a solitary, saluting Marine greeted them out on Constitution Avenue... the Marine stood at salute for 3 straight hours, while the parade of roaring bikes kept on coming.... it is held in remembrance of those who've fallen in the military.... the event (or the group) is called Rolling Thunder... George Bush used to meet these bikers before they paraded... the camera is on the Marine a lot... watch his struggles with his emotions, and his struggles with holding that salute... the way he salutes is very touching... his head lowered, his eyes down, in reverence for the fallen... I am an ex-Marine sergeant, and I know what he was feeling... and as I watched him, I could feel it too.... it got to be overwhelming for him... and the tears started flowing... watch what he says when he finally breaks, but keeps right on holding that salute...

That Marine is my HERO!!!! I have respect for anyone that could stand there and salute our fallen Brethren. Let alone for THREE hours.

Im not gonna lie...I teared up watching this...This Marine has shown what a fine nation we are and what a fine Armed Forces we are. He wanted to give up but yet didnt, perseveered through the pain and hard times. This is what the American Solider, sailor, Marine, Airman, and Coast Guardsman goes through day in and day out. I am proud to call myself an American and even more proud to call myself A marine and member of the US Armed Forces. Than-you to all my Brothers who have served and who are still serving. Semper Fi

What can be said about that that wasn't shown on that Marine's face. I was honored to watch that but pride peeked when the guy on the Harley stopped and returned a slow salute. It was also good to see that may come out to witness that too.
