360 RRoD
Question: I have a first generation 360 that developed the accursed red ring. I thought it was well out of warantee and went out and bought a new one that has the latest Jasper chip set. Does anyone know of a Jasper model developing the red ring? I later found out that my original 360 was covered under the extended warantee and had it repaired, so I have a backup. I also run all my games off of the hard drive now, so I think I'm safe.

Re: 360 RRoD
It has been said that the Jaspers have a 3% failure rate which is down from the falcon models having a 30%..The RE5 special editions have a 88% failure rate..

Re: 360 RRoD
Holy cow! That's amazing about the RE5 boxes! Talk about egg on the face. Glad to hear about the low rate on the Jaspers though and I was pretty lucky on my first box too, I bought it in November of '05 and it lasted untill May of '09. I think that's pretty long for the first gen. Anyway I only use the old one for occasional Netflix viewing in my living room. Oh, one other thing, does anybody know how much using only the hard drive to play games lessens the chance of the red ring?

Re: 360 RRoD
Installing to hard drive reduces all rrod to nearly 0%. I have never had a rrod on any of my 4 xboxes.. i have one jasper
