I'm asking all of you with any experience in this subject to share what you know. This is my Sony Bravia KDL-46VL130, now sitting useless in my basement. We bought it a couple of years ago at Sam's Club, but my oldest daughter broke it while playing High Velocity Bowling with the PS3 earlier this year (we were able to go out and buy a brand new Vizio the same day, thanks to our income tax return). The controller went flying out of her hand and smacked into the screen. What you see in these pictures is all that I get out of it now. Nothing else appears regardless of which video input is selected.
There is no surface damage to the screen. No nicks, cuts, dents, or scratches. It doesn't make any strange noises, and as far as I can tell all of the controls still work. This is actually the same model as the Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000, except that the 46VL130 was exclusive to Sam's Club. I think I read something somewhere that there is a panel beneath the screen that can be replaced in most LCDs. Does anyone know if this is the case? Any idea what this kind of repair runs?
I really appreciate any help you all may offer.
