    Harry Potter Lego Years 1-4

Been playing this game all week on PS3 and I have to say...it is really good fun if you have kids and they are into the Harry Potter movies

The levels are pretty much like the other Lego games, with loads of stuff to collect and unlock, as well as some tricky puzzles and objectives that are fun to work out and easy for kids. The Harry Potter game though is better IMO because it has a trophy collection, unlike the other Lego games. The multiplayer option is drop in, drop out, the same as before and it splits the screen if you wander too far from the other player .....rather than forcing you to stay together like with Star Wars.

The Hogwarts School maps are massive and you feel as though you really are exploring the place as in the movies. The story lines are really funny with their facial expressions and actions and if you know the films, you will recognise most of the characters instantly. There are also bonus levels that you unlock as you go along and can be played from the bank vault whenever you want.

You have to play through the entire story board before you can unlock all of the spells needed to collect some of the items necessary for the complete trophy collection, but you can then go back to Free Play for all levels to do so. Also there are plenty of cheat codes if you really feel the need, or are too lazy to go through the whole rigmarole of getting them, but to be honest (apart from the 10 million stud collector trophy which you need to collect in a single level) you can get by without them. I can see how they are helpful for young kids though.

My daughter is 9 and is a big HP book and movie fan and she absolutely loves this game. It's rained hard all week this week...and this has been her saviour from boredom!

The only negative I could find really is that there is no online player option, which would've been fun if you could play with friends like Little Big Planet.

I have really enjoyed playing it and only wish I'd played on my own account now....cos it's probably going to be the only game I ever 100%

I guess I'll just have to play all over again some other time

it is true, this game is awesome. I played the demo on the PS store and it's everything i had hoped it would be. I'm a fan of the lego games and i enjoy Harry potter so this game is a great combination. I hope to one day be able to get this game along with the handful of others i've been wanting to pick up

if you've never played a lego game before i really do recommend it, they are quite fun and hilarious because they never talk so they pantomime everything out and add lego humor to the story

you can pick up starwars the complete saga for cheap and it's awesome

Starwars complete saga is the best lego game, and with the most content. 2nd I'd give it to Indiana Jones. 3rd goes to batman, and I've never played harry potter legos, but I'm sure it would be 4th.

My wife and kids are addicted to all of the Lego games (Star Wars, Batman, Indian Jones). Unfortunately, once they start playing it's nearly impossible for me to get them to stop! I already made the mistake of telling them about the Harry Potter version, and now they're bugging me to get it for them.

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Sounds like you need to put a PS3 on your letter to Santa this year River.
