Sometimes you need money to impress a girl, but there are probably better methods (like getting a job) than the one used in the following story. 17-year-old Anthony Etienne of West Brighton, Long Island decided that a good way to impress his girlfriend was to snatch a Nintendo DS from a little girl. The incident took place in the New Dorp Plaza at around 5:37 p.m. Monday, according to local police. When police approached the teen, he panicked and dropped the game system.

Etienne said that he needed money to impress his girlfriend so he decided to steal a DS from a little girl in the mall. After a struggle with her Etienne ran away with the little girl chasing him as he tried to flee. Apparently he couldn't flee from police, who eventually caught up with him.

While we're not sure if his girlfriend was impressed with the move, maybe she'll be impressed with his bad ass criminal charges: third-degree robbery, fourth-degree larceny and petit larceny charges - according to District Attorney Daniel Donovan's office. Etienne was arraigned at Stapleton Criminal Court this afternoon.

Multiple levels of fail on his part. Next time just get a job.

It's sad that I agree with you....I kinda laughed, but then I thought, "Oh man, that's horrible!....because the guy is such a moron for doing it in the first place...."

it would've been classic if the cops.... once they had him in custody, they let the little girl come over and while they held him spread eagle. she punted him right in the mommy daddy button .
