    Big misunderstanding...

I was on today and playing with some buddies of mine, we're all veteran Marines so we all went into TDM. Well today was very interesting in that we came across a group of women players clan tagged PMS. They were very good in that they were very well coordinated and gave us a run for our money. Anyways, after a few games my guys and I start bagging on each other like most military types do. Well one of the other team members asks us if we're in the military (or ever were) and we said yeah. well one of my guys says, "yeah ToneLoc is in the Army." Of course I respond like any Marine would to being compared to a Soldier, but we were laughing about it so that should tell you that it's all based on a little inter-service rivalry right? So this one lady on the opposing team gets pretty livid because there are so many people talking at once and I guess all she heard was the "smack talk" and goes off on me on behalf of her husband whom (if i heard correctly) is in the Army. Telling me stuff like you are an ungrateful ass hole for talking shit about the military and I wouldn't last a day in the Army." Stuff like that right, and I'm like, "WOAH WOAH WOAH!! Calm down there sister you obviously didn't hear me right, or any of my team for that matter." But of course by then the match started and we couldn't converse anymore and then to leave it more open to bad interpretation they all bolt mid-game. So I'm left feeling like this particular incident shouldn't be one that's left alone. Any other smack talk I'll pretty much let it go, but when I'm accused of something based on the accusers misunderstanding of the facts and it involves the military, I'm sorry but that to me is a worthy topic to carry on discussion. I'd like outside opinions on this if anyone would care to share them.

See.... I just don't get it...What makes a Marine more bad ass than I????? :? All I ever see is that most Marine's just have a HUGE chip on their shoulder that needs to be knocked off.

That wasn't the point dude, see I never meant any disrespect to begin with. That just goes to show you that some people (even spouses of military personnel) sometimes just don't understand our mentality as protectors of our nation. I would expect that you being a Soldier would understand that ages old little inter-service rivalry and when it comes down to it we're still all on the same side. Obviously this chick I was referring to on my bit here didn't want to hear that.

    Big misunderstanding...

I don't see a problem with it most of it is just all in good fun. I have the highest respect for anyone who serves regardless of their service branch. I still like to poke fun at my buddies that chose a different branch.

Hell the best one I heard was from Cajun about the Marines. He said how did they come up with the name Marine? Take a hand full of shit and throw it in the fan and that's the noise you hear (when you say Marine really fast)! I thought it was hilarious!!

I understand the Inter Military picking. I just never could figure out why a Marine is so offended by being compared to a Army solider. :?

It's a number of things dude, but when you strip away all the bullshit, it really doesn't matter, we'd still be proud to be standing back to back (at least I believe so) regardless of the color on our uniform, because there's still gonna be three that match...RED, WHITE, AND MUTHA FUCKIN' BLUE!!! Pardon my French, HA!

    Re: Big misunderstanding...

well first let me say, you stepped into a pile O shit without even knowing it. PMS is... well let's just say temperamental, to say the least. but you cant blame them for all the crap, they put up with from the dickweeds that are on MW2. they're a good group... but best to be avoided, for the exact reason you just experienced. I've encountered them a few times myself and to say the least.... it was a less than enjoyable experience. so here it is in a nutshell... LET IT DROP, don't pursue it especially with this group it's for the best.
