    Share Your Toys

Alright I thought I would take the opportunity to make a thread where everyone can show off their "babies." I will start first. Here is my 9mm Smith & Wesson Sigma. It was cheap, only around $250 brand new. I like it and it shoots great for me. Lets see what everyone else is sporting. I am thinking about getting a 22 pistol for my wife, she wants one since she is scared of mine. The next pistol I want for myself is either going to be Smith & Wesson XD or the Smith & Wesson M&P. If you can't tell I like S&W.

That's awesome. Thanks, you should look into the sigma. It is a great starter pistol. I bought it because I loved the price tag on it.

    The Jackel

Hibben gen 1 Pro Throwing Axe

Mom has a strict no-gun policy in her house.

I do have this though for when I go camping/fishing:

    http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-22-0140...6817710&sr=8-2

I forgot. I also have this axe for splitting smaller logs of wood at home and for camping:

    http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-45905-C...=2NX0PNFCNFNH9

One of these days I'll probably get a machete too for backwoods camping. Then I can feel like I was in the bush too!

    New guy likes rifles.

Here is what I am working with these days.

Chambered for 6mm PPC, Viper drop-port action, Krieger barrel, Jewell trigger (1.5 oz.), Luepold 45X.

It shoots in the same hole when I do my part, here are 5 rounds at 100yds which can be covered by an aspirin.

No use for hunting or home defense, but if you want to shoot a fly at 200 yards, this one will do it.

    Re: Share Your Toys

    That's purrty

I'm not too big on guns since i only have that one gun i posted before so could you explain exactly what that setup is you're using as a front support? looks like it has a timer and is set up to easily adjust position but that's all i really can see. Is it something that they just have at ranges or something perhaps?

    Re: Share Your Toys

The rifle is a centerfire, light varmit, benchrest rifle. Its only purpose is to shoot the smallest groups possible. It is useless and dangerous for anything other than sitting on a bench drilling holes in paper.

The goal is simply to shoot a 5 shot group that measures .000 in. It has never been done. Then do it 5 times in a row. (The diameter of the bullet is subtracted from the group size. The average of 5 groups is used for a score) My best so far has been a .092 group and a .181 5 group aggregate. I have seen groups in the .04 range and an agg of .12. The difference between what I am capable of shooting and the other is the difference between high school and NFL football. It is hard which makes it worth doing.

Supporting the rifle is a front rest. It is a large, heavy, steel support with a joystick. The rest secures the rifle and allows for very quick, very precise adjustments of point of aim. Small changes in wind direction or velocity has noticible effects on point of impact. The joystick allows me to quickly compensate for these changes.

The timer is just a magnetic cheapy kitchen timer. I use it for competitions, which are timed events, and to practice with. It sticks really well to the post and the damn battery is going on 4 years service.

    Cheers

did this group at 100 yds with Springfied M1A prone supported with a EoTech Holography site, shooting Hornady .308 A-MAX match
I was more impressed with the M1A than myself, I was very supprised a M1A Standrd was capable of this.

That is an outstanding group, in many ways more impressive than the one I posted. A rifle able to achieve that type of accuracy with factory loads has a dead nut on chamber and barrel. A little tweaking with handloads and you have a .25 moa piece.

    Well done.

I actually took my pistol out to the range today with a buddy of mine. We were just tearing up with target. I love going to the range.
