It's tough talking games as teacher.

TEACHER ARRESTED FOR THREATENING TO GO HOME AND GAME ACQUITTED

A teacher arrested after making a threat to kill hundreds of people was acquitted by a jury after clarification emerged that his remark was meant to reference the taking of virtual lives in videogame play, so that he could relieve stress.

Jason Davis was a teacher at Knox Central High School in Barbourville, Kentucky, when a student, and fellow online gamer who Davis often played with, hid some of Davis’ markers. Davis, according to Kentucky.com http://www.kentucky.com/2010/08/05/1...acquitted.html, was apparently having a rough day and this bit of tom foolery caused him to issue utterances about killing people to relieve stress, which was apparently taken out of context by students and resulted in his arrest in May of 2009 for second-degree terroristic threatening.

A jury needed only 10 minutes to conclude that Davis was not guilty. Davis spent a month in jail before coming up with bond, and is now unemployed as the school, before the incident, informed him that he would not be rehired.

I'll bet next time he wont talk about video games in school again.

gaming's like politics and sex, you need to adjust your discussion to the type of people you're talking too.

I just find this... funny... as most things do.

Why would you even mutter a line about your personal life in front of your students in the first place, let alone about the specifics of your virtual experience... like that one huh yeah you do.

but anyways, feel bad for the guy, but he deserves it.

    Good luck homie g dawg!

wow. schools dont play around with the shooting talk. i guess it's like saying "bomb" at the airport. month in jail and fired seems a little steeper than the body cavity search and missing your flight.
