    Helluva Last Day

Imagine this sight: Your JetBlue flight has just touched down at your destination when a flight attendant takes to the public address system, drops the F-bomb, pops the emergency door and exits the plane via the emergency slide. We're really hoping someone out there has video footage of this incident that went down at JFK Airport today.

The flight from Pittsburgh to NYC had just arrived when the attendant found himself involved in a verbal altercation with a passenger.

Here's how the NY Times describes the scene:

“One passenger got out of his seat to fetch his belongings from the overhead compartment before the crew had given permission. [The attendant] instructed the man to remain seated. The passenger defied him. [The attendant] approached and reached the passenger just as he pulled down his luggage, which struck [the attendant] in the head.”

After his request for an apology was answered with profanity by the passenger, the attendant took to the intercom and announced, "To the passenger who called me a motherfucker, fuck you... I've been in the business 28 years. I've had it. That's it."

That's when he popped open the emergency exit and slid down to the tarmac. He then went inside, ripped off his tie and hopped on the AirTrain monorail to the JetBlue parking lot.

According to the Wall Street Journal, he also managed to swipe a few beers from the plane's galley on his way out.

The attendant, 39, was arrested at his home and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

JetBlue is, of course, taking this seriously and helping the FAA with their investigation. However, said the airline in a statement: "At no time was the security or safety of our customers or crew members at risk."

He hasn't got the last "FU" apparently. A few independent reports I've heard and read about are saying some of the passengers and Jet-Blu plan on suing him!

On this side or the other, we will meet once again.

I think a lot of people don't realize what assclowns the airline employees have to deal with on a daily basis; my mom works for Delta, and she can't STAND some of the customers; sometimes, with the way they treat her, I wish I could spend one day at her work, just so I can bash them in the face with a damned mirror. But, I don't blame that employee. Jetblue are a bunch of morons, for that, and to tell you the truth, I would have just walked back and punched the passenger before leaving. That's crap, and an employee should not have to deal with that.....after hearing what my mom and her fellow employees have to go through with dealing with IDIOTS all day long, I thought the military was bad..... :o

    Re: Helluva Last Day

I wonder if the other passengers jumped that one jerk when they realized they were all going to miss their connecting flights.

Believe it or not, I'd rather fly on our own KC-135's than commercial. I've flown overseas several times on our tankers and, while we don't have all the creature comforts, we could lay on the floor (135's have jump seats along the fuselage) or walk around. Or if you have enough pull, you can get a bunk. When I've flown on the freedom bird we were stuck in our seats and crammed in there. Of course, we didn't complain on the way home.

I'm sure we have all have had thoughts of a dramatic ending to our current employment situations; but this one is the best i've heard so far.

well if you read that story use the voice of "movie trailer voice dude" it sounds even more hilarious. I would have gave the employee a high five and bought him some more beers.
