    Lightbulb Sprint EVO

Well I was finally able to talk the wife into letting me get one!! Wow do I love this phone so far. I am actually typing this with the phone and not the computer without taptalk app. It is so much faster than my old iPhone 3G. If anyone is considering this phone I would sugggest it.

Your lucky! We have been trying to get these for work, but they are "wait listed" here in the midwest.
I am hoping to get one soon.

Yup there was a wait list here too. I asked a guy at sprint to give me a call when one came in. He called me about thirty mins later saying they just got some.

Iron are you serious? Here in the quad cities every store has them..The only thing bad is the battery life on them..It has such a short time. If you use the phone likes it meant to, then ull find out real quick that it will only be able to be used for a short time. Other than that the phones are awesome

WTH! Yeah we can't get them here in Springfield. Ironically, we were in Peoria yesterday for service calls and checked all their sprint stores, no go. They all were "wait listed". :?

Try talking to every store and get on everyones wait list. That's what I did and happend to get a call the first day I went on one since they just got a fresh shipment of them. They are first come first serve so I hauled ass over to the mall at lunch after he called.

The battery is the only down that I have seen so far. Although the battery for the Iphone 3G wasn't great either so it's nothing I am unfamiliar with.

Now if someone could tell me how to get mario bros on the phone that would be awesome!!!

    Re: Sprint EVO

Can and can't find one. I have an old school Sprint SERO plan and since I'm robbing them of money based on my plan, they've excluded us from upgrading to cutting edge phones. I learned that by having a white EVO in my hand at BBY and my friend who's the manager broke the news to me when he had trouble putting it through. Gonna give my wife my phone plan and get a new Everything Plus plan which is lil more expensive. If Sprint can't manufacture this shit, I'll hold out for Windows 7 and XBL features.

    Re: Sprint EVO

Hell yes!!! I figured out how to do internet tethering with my EVO to my netbook. I am on the site right now through my netbook that is running 3G from my phone, it is wired but who cares still cool!! There was a free app in the android market that was called "EasyTether." They have a paid version and the only thing it unlocks is https sites for $9.99 or something like that. It was easy to install and seem like the internet is running just fine on here so far so good. I wish I could figure out that root and the wifi tether but this will definitely do for now. 8-)

    Re: Sprint EVO

Oh as for battery life. There are a few things to try to improve it.

First things I did was keep news and stocks from syncing. Changed facebook and twitter to sync at long intervals. I can click if I need it right now.

And one that will sounds goofy but works for me. But there is science behind it for the humming bird processor.

    Download network from market(free).
Change cmda prl. Auto to gms prl auto.
    Close network app
    Open network app again.
Reset it back to cdma prl
    auto.

Looks like the release of the Samsung Epic freed up supply for this phone. After overnight shipping, I am now part of the EVO club! Gonna try to download some apps tonight.

    Re: Sprint EVO

Awesomeness this phone is way better than the iPhone. My one and only complaint so far is the battery life. I am thinking about buying some aftermarket battery. I want to find one where I don't have to get a bigger backplate though.

Two good forums if you haven't found them already. Both have a decent EVO section.

    Re: Sprint EVO

How do I add a ringtone that I have on my PC to my EVO. I'm stumped on this. It was very simple in my last phone. What folder do I drag and drop it to?!

    Re: Sprint EVO

There is a ringtone app where you can cut and edit all your songs into a ringtone. Just put the music on the phone download that app and your in business.

    Re: Sprint EVO

Well one thing I have found about this phone is that it is collecting a small amount of dust under the screen in the upper left hand corner (near where it says HTC). I hope this doesn't become a big issue and saw some HTC forums talking about this problem as well. I really love this phone but if it gets worse than it is I might have to take this bad boy back... I don't have a case or screen protector on at the moment and this could be why it's happening. It seems a lot of people are talking about it how HTC doesn't use good adhesive when they secure the screen to the plastic body. Anyone else having this issue too??

If you want to know the best trick I found for battery life. Hold the power button until the phone options pop up, select "Mobile Network connect to the internet is ON" this will turn off your internet completely. You will be able to call and text all day long. If you need to send emails or surf the web just turn it back on. Since I have been doing this by the end of the day I still have about mid 80% battery life.
