    Eating organic

It isn't just a hippie thing. It actually is much healthier and can contribute greatly to weight loss. The pesticides in vegetables can cause weight gain.

12 fruits and veggies found to have the highest pesticide load are: (in order of highest to lowest) peaches, apples, bell peppers, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, kale, lettuce, imported grapes, carrots and pears.

15 that have the least pesticide residue are: onions, avocados, sweet corn, pineapples, mangoes, asparagus, sweet peas, kiwis, cabbages, eggplants, papayas, watermelons, broccoli, tomatoes and sweet potatoes.

Also because of growth hormones in animals, eating meat means you are also ingesting weight gain chemicals. It is suggested that you should eat grass fed beef (corn fed is terrible for the environment).

((found this information in February issues of Men's Health))

May not be for hippies but they sure do act as a turnoff here in West LA. Especially the ones asking for petition sigs :x . The cost to do this is also very expensive for the average consumer in these economic times. My wife does pure organic food for our daughter, but I dread going to Whole Foods. Great film to watch is Food Inc. It opens your eyes. Just hard to open the wallet.

yeah, that's why I posted what they call the "Dirty Dozen" and the "Clean Fifteen" ... so you can still make good choices if you can't afford organic.

And grass cut beef is the same way, expensive. That's why it is best to reduce meat intake in general (something I hate to say).

Some foods state it is '100% natural' but when you look at the ingredients it has synthetic/man made chemicals added to it.

When you buy foods that say it's 100% natural do you ever wonder did it grew from a tree/plant?
