Nintendo will drop the price tags on the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL handhelds starting on September 12, the company announced.
The DSi, which features a pair of cameras and access to downloadable games, will sell for $149.99. The XL, a larger version of the DSi, will be available for $169.99.
The DSi and DSi XL currently sell for $170 and $190 respectively. The earlier model DS Lite will continue to carry a $129 price.
Sales for the Nintendo DS have proven quite strong. This year, more than 3.4 million handhelds have sold in the U.S. through July, according to the company.
Last June, Nintendo announced they will release a 3D version of the device, called the Nintendo 3DS, which will feature the technology without the use of glasses.
