It makes you wonder how far we are from actually having the VR missions of the metal gear series

Okay, that's kickass!!! I can't find a downside to this at all. The ability to have "reactionary" targets as well has target ID would be priceless. I wish we had this system back when I was doing CQB and MOUT site training.

Ft.Lewis has acouple of centers somewhat like this, Not nearly this awesome!
Ones at Lewis, was just a flat screen, old old school gfxs, cant use your personal weapons. But a modified M4 with nematic bolt and a hose that runs to the floor. You had to stand in one place and shoot at the screen.
This on the other hand, looks to revolutionize the way the future war-fighter trains.
I believe i know what you are talking about Sav, we had many of them in Pendleton and Miramar, we called them ISMT's (Indoor Simulated Marksman Training).
looked something like this:
A bunch of special modified weapons that used pneumatic systems to simulate recoil and a system similar to the old Duck hunt nintendo zapper to acquire and take down targets. I agree, it wasn't nearly as cool as the Laser Shot system above but still pretty interesting to use

That looked pretty nice, but I couldn't help but laugh inside when I saw some of their room clearing procedures. HAHAHA! At least the SF guys did it correctly. I don't know what regular unit the others where but I'd smoke the CRAP out of all of them if I was in charge. they sucked!
So Saviger. You stationed at Lewis-McChord?
