    Twisted Metal

    What ever happened with this series? I use to love playing it. It was part of the reason I liked the movie Death Race, reminded me of this game.

    this used to be one of my favorite games. I have heard about a new release for this series on the PS3. However, there are no REAL confirmations out there. Check this though: Snifflebuttlongjohnsandcatfishchewtoys

    All I can say is that there IS a new one coming out and has been in development for cross platforms for some time now. My future Brother-in-Law has been and still is a lead game engine architect for the Twisted Metal series. Due to the non disclosure all he has been able to tell me is that "it's in development".

    I'm looking forward to it too.

    Also if you've never tried Warhawk, it's on sale now on the PlayStation store, it's one of the ones he's worked on also.

    Can't guarantee anything but I'll be sure and pass the word. Not sure how they do their Alpha or Beta testing though. I'm sure they do their Alpha, in-house but may pass on Beta testing of the platform specific versions to their owners like Microsoft and Sony. I'll give him a call later in the week and let you guys know.

    Story? For Twisted Metal? I thought the story was:

    Driver's want money, driver's get car+Guns, Kill other Driver's with car+guns. Last driver with car+guns=Big Money! I am sure that you could throw some Llamas and Flowers in there to make it more interesting. Personally I say keep it simple....

    it's been forever since i played it but didn't they try putting a little story into twisted metal black?

    something about a llama eating a flower and then it got ran over by a car and spawned the characters in the game....

    Ok it is now officially confirmed, we will be seeing Twisted Metal in all it's HD goodness on PS3

    Online and splitscreen multiplayer will be there, with the combination of splitscreen/online included

    there will be factions involved in the multiplayer, making for team based modes like one that was demo'd called Nuke.

    I did catch the end of the Feedback coverage on G4 tonight and saw them talking about this one. I absolutely fell in love with it right off the bat. Looks like a "must buy" in my book.
