Re: Home Theater set up questions?

Thanks for putting up this forum. Let me be the first to ask a question. I've got a Vizio 46" in my living room, and I use a KLH receiver and speakers for the sound system. It's nothing great, but it's better than the normal sound of the TV itself.

I'd actually like to get the receiver and speakers out of the way. I've been thinking of getting the Vizio sound bar, mainly to reduce clutter and make space. Any idea if this sound bar is worth it? Most of the reviews I've read across the 'net were generally positive.

The stereo set up we have now really doesn't have any other use than for the TV system. We don't listen to radio, CD's, etc. over it...just the TV.

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Sound bars are good but it really depends on the room . And if your looking for for deep bass sound during explosions or anything that create low frequency it really isn't made for that. If your room has several openings into the room like kitchen , family room etc the sound will change. Sound bars are made to bounce off the walls and give you a surround sound feel. In my opinion they are just a form of upgrading your standard tv speakers Not for true surround sound .

Are you looking for a full surround sound experience ? would be my first question. 1speaker on each side of your tv and subwoofer will not give you full surround sound quality. How big is your game room. Bose is all hype .I had Bose and thought wow it sounds good until I heard other brands Polk ,Boston acoustic , Klipsch .All of these were much better in sound. If you have craigslist in your state I would recommend looking there for home theater speakers . You may be able to spend the same amount you want to spend for Bose on a complete surround setup. If you find anything let me know I will try to help you. Just stay away from Bose way over priced.

    Home Theater set up questions?

Too late lol, I picked up the Bose system and I love it sounds amazing it's about a 20x15 ft room I didn't want a full surround system yet as I am renting the house I live in and I'm going to want to put holes in the wall for the speakers, to me I think these Bose speakers sound amazing I was just playing moh I had the tv pretty loud and it sounded almost too real. Overall I think it was 500 bucks well spent
