I know there's some KISS haters out there (whatever!), but you gotta give some serious props for this (see the video) and the story that follows:

KISS visits VA Medical Center in Georgia

Some wounded warriors at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia, had a great surprise Wednesday afternoon when the rock group KISS stopped by for a visit.

After receiving a special invitation from the band, the Wounded Warriors in the Active Duty Rehabilitation Unit at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center traveled to Atlanta to attend their October 23rd concert.

The concert was awesome, but the icing on the cake was the visit on Wednesday by the group to spend time with those who were not able to make the trip and to personally thank the Veterans and active duty for their service.

Laurie Ott, Executive Director of the Wounded Warrior Project of the CSRA, played a major role in connecting KISS with the local wounded warriors.

"Augusta's Amazing Facility"

Lead singer Paul Stanley commented, "It's important to the members of our band that injured service men and women receive the respect and attention they deserve. Augusta has an amazing facility here. "

The Active Duty Rehabilitation Unit at the Charlie Norwood VA is a unique collaboration between the Department of Defense and the Veterans Health Administration. The only unit of its kind in the VA system, the program was established to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for armed forces personnel.

Services include internal medicine, psychiatry, nursing, social work, psychology, nutrition, speech pathology and occupational and physical therapy.

Wow I remember listening to Kiss when I was 4th and 5th grade, I know because the old man caught me and my friends smoking cig in the garge listening to a kiss album then, he went nuts.

Hmm is we are goin to go back to the time when we first heard KISS. I remember hearing my first KISS song Detroit Rock City while i was being driven to school by my dad. I thought it was an awesome song and when i got back home i asked my dad could we go to the store and see if i could get a KISS CD. Hmm good times.

I know this. If u read in my comment i said CD not album. Our generations are completely different. But one true thing is KISS is awesome.

I caught that with the CD, I laugh when I'm traveling and waiting for my plane I will start to BS with troops in waiting also and it kills me when they were born after I went in.
