    Is Easy The Easy Route?

Lately I've had less and less time to play games. I have games that have never touched my disc tray and I've gotten maybe 16% of achievements from all the games I've played. Achiements are nice but who am I kidding? Although I've played a LOT of games, my 25K is nothing compared to some friends who have 70K+. I'm wondering should I just play games on easy to get through em? Kinda hurts the ego but I rather get through a game and absorb the story than play no game at all or get stuck at some point. Whaddya think?

I think it's up to the real reason you play the games. You could always play through on easy to get the story line and then go back for the achievements you want. Even on harder modes you don't always get all the achievements, I usually end up going back on easy mode to pick up the ones I missed just to get them faster.

I ran into the same issue with not having enough time. Some of the games that I have (KZ2/Resistance/etc.) I played on easy just to get the story. Personally I am not an achievement hunter, so that is no biggie to me.

I usually play all games on easy, with the kids, wife and working I don't have the time anymore to devote 2 hours a day just to pass a level, plus my reflexs are not what they used to be. I don't feel I'm missing anything.

I always try to see if a game has "stackable" trophies/achievements. For example a couple of games I've played recent, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Terminator: Salvation, both will give you lower-tier trophies for completing the harder lever. In the instance of Terminator, I played on the hard level, and was automatically given the trophy for moderate difficulty completion in addition to the hard difficulty one.

There really is no wrong answer. It is all up to your personal preference. I know a lot of people play through the harder difficulties first for the sake of getting the trophies/achievements of completing a story. After that, some will go back and "mop up" (i.e. completing certain feats, getting hidden collectibles). Some do it the other way around.

In the end, it's all in what you want to accomplish and what style works best for you. I know that's more of a "non-answer", but that's just my personal train of thought.

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

I usually check and see what the achievements are by going to cheatcc.com. I then print out that page. Some games have achievements just for completing the game on easy or normal. Then they give additional achievements for completing the game on hard or legendary (where applicable). So, I basically start SP on easy or normal to get the story and the feel for the game. Once I complete it, I up the challenge and go for the other achievements. Thats just me though. Everybody games differently! Semper Fi!!

I used to do it this way, but then I found I just don't have the time to run through them twice anymore. So I try to do it on the highest level I can and still keep my sanity, and then I go through on easy to get the achievements I miss (if I feel like it). I still have 4 games I haven't even started yet. Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Mass Effect 2 and Fable III (which I loaned out)

I play like usmc does apparently. I play through on normal, sometimes easy, so that I can enjoy the story of the game, instead of being wrapped up in the difficulty of the game, then go back and catch the insanity/legendary/super-uber-badass-aweful difficulty playthrough. The few times I tried it the other way, Bullet-style, I just got too frustrated and annoyed.

I always start a game on easy mode, to play through the story, and actually enjoy the game. I come back to it and playing it on a harder difficulty if its worth playing.
I honestly couldn't give 2 thick dumps on if I hit all the achievements, or trophy's. If I played games for that reason, I would drive myself bat-shit crazy, and probably have 100 broken controllers.

Please do not contact me for recruiting issues or to add or create you a signature. I will ignore you.

LMAO Bullet style huh? The only games whose achievements are frustrating me is BC2 and MoH. I only need two for BC2. The Et Tu Brute? I need 3 more friend-tags and the Demolition one I need 4 more demolition kills in Multi. If I get them it will be the first game I ever got all the achievements for. Only reason I want it so bad is because I'm soooooo dang close. But I doubt it will happen before Vietnam DLC comes out then I'll have to see. The MoH isn't so much the achievement as the Tier 1 mode. I only have one more to get below par (the last mission). I keep dying either in the cave or at the camp just outside of it. Yes an achievement will unlock once I get it, but I would still be after it even if ther wasn't. I just try for the achievements I know I'm capable of. I don't try to stress myself for them. I tried Halo on Legendary and gave up pretty quick and did it on hard. Even then I would have stepped it down if I hadn't already been so far into the game at the time.

I totally agree with that one.

I achievement whore some-what. I was trying to get all of Halo 3 before Reach came out, but struck out. And of the 6 games I've completed 100% so far, 3 of them were because of the story, 1 because it was my favorite shooter, and 2 because they were just easy 1,000 and my wife played them. But every game that has an awesome story or exceptionally fun gameplay to it, I tend to get as many of the achievements as possible. With the exception of the gay Rockstar games that insist on having half their achievements be multi-player based....when their multiplayer sucks donkey-cock.
