    Got in some stick time

Ok... looks like I might be the only UMGer in the closed BETA for BSG Online, however I know I'm not the only BSG fan in the clan SOOOO.... here is what I think so far:

First it's a work in progress, that said it is honestly in a very playable state for a BETA.

It's about what you would expect from an MMO that is free to play. You don't have to pay for anything to be able to enjoy the game, but if you want to spend a couple of real bucks for some Colonial Cubits you can progress much faster.

It is not 100% intuitive and a good read me file or FAQ will help those who start playing after it's full release. However I am not really struggling much at all to figure out what needs to be done to progress (almost level 3 now *LOL*).

Where this game is really shine'n for me is the ship combat ... it's got a lot, Vipers, Rapters, and even ships of the line. All of which are upgradeable and unlocked as your character progresses. Ship combat is fun and is not so difficult to ruin game play for someone who is not a flight sim person, and by the same token it's not so dummed down that it's unappealing to those of us who are flight sim fans. If you have played Freelancer you are on the right track.

All of the key players are here too, when aboard the capital ships you can interact will Admiral Adama, Starbuck and Apollo, many of the BSG cast.

Also and for folks like us, there is Clan Support so we can form Viper and Rapter wings and work together to push back the Cylon horde.

All told even in this early state I am having a ball with BSG Online and even after just a few hours I know I'm hooked.

OH! almsot forgot ... as far as system ability I am not exactly playing on a current Laptop ... it's a Core 2 Duo 1.8 with a Intel graphics chipset and even over a wi-fi connection it plays pretty well. So give it a shot.

    Here is the YouTube Trailer:

There is a teaser web site up but I'm having trouble locating it as I write this ... as soon as I get a solid addy I'll post it.
