    Neep computer help!!

Ok internet explorer is annoying me... I keep getting this pop up bar at the top of my screen " Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage, disable, or remove your add-ons." I have clicked on this and looked at my add-ons I don't know how many times and everyone of them say enabled. I have also tried updating IE and windows also tried restarting and still it pops up. I can't figure this out and maybe one of you guys know something I don't... PLEASE HELP.

Dude why are you using IE anyways? Google Chrome is wayyy better. other than that. dont worry about it so much, those add-ons are for stuff you probably dont use. If you need it the page would tell you upon loading.

I agree with Silent. I personally haven't used IE for over a year now.

Well if you don't want to switch to Firefox....LOL.....then the best way is to start removing add ons. If you remove one that you need, then when you go the page that needs it, then you will receive a message to download the add on.
Process of elimination is the best way.

Yes I agree a screen shot of the error would really help us to troubleshoot.

I am having a nightmare with my PC too right now. I use Firefox but that doesn't stop people downloading crap when I'm not looking lol!

I have this crapsearch "myway.websearch" installed which is just the tip of the iceberg!!! My husband and daughter thought the "cute" fucking "pig" would look good as a mouse cursor!!! Arghhhh!!!

Anyway I have now disconnected it from the internet to avoid my personal details, passwords, identity.... and who knows? The whole of my wardrobe going missing when I'm not paying attention lol!

I've run Spybot Search and Destroy, Hijack This, Ad Aware and AVG a zillion times... only to find it re-appears after deletion. It's completely screwed with registry... and loads of errors and running problems now.

If anyone has any suggestions ...other than taking a baseball bat to it...I'd be grateful!

    Luckily I have a Macbook too....thank goodness!

I got home today and it was gone, weird. Not really sure why now it was like that for about a week. Certain pictures from the web wouldn't appear because of it. If it decides to show up again I will get a screen shot of it.

reload. You have a string of very know malware. its is very difficult to remove, and even with it off, has a tendency to reinstall itself.. Do you really wanna run the risk of your personal information being stolen? reload it.. it is easier and safer.

    got to love it

first turn off system restore -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264887
download Mill shield here-http://www.milincorporated.com/milshield2.html run .exe and set milshield to clean what you have on your system.
download Malwarebytes-http://www.malwarebytes.org/ make sure you run the update then do quick scan first, clean what it finds. It will ask you to reboot to finish. Once rebooted run a long scan (this can take some time)
    download Trend Micro/Hijackthis-http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

save the output file and email to me @ kwhill00@gmail.com /header stating LadyM output file

If any program will not launch go into safe mode-http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...utorial61.html and execute.

    Any questions just IM me

Great thanks guys...I will follow those instructions tomorrow Shack!

I am even worried about a re-install right now because this shit is right through the system ....and I'm concerned about re-infection with the back ups?

You know what it's like...loads of photos, word docs etc that I need to keep and it keeps popping up in Office files so if I can get rid of it...or most of it first... then do a re-install that would be better wouldn't it?

DB download either IE 9 Beta (if you want to stay with IE), Firefox, or Chrome

    IE9: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/i...ucts/ie-9/home
    Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html
    or Firefox 4 beta http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/beta/
    Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome

Lady i'm sorry, but your windows install is toast.... At worst you have a root kit, witch will can not be cleared off by malware scans, only a complete re-install. By its behavior (reinstalling after being "cleaned") it looks like you probably have a root kit installed.

here is what you must do:

1.Backup all your documents on a external HDD / Thumb drive, or in the cloud.
2.Then using your windows disk, completely format your windows partition, and re-install windows. If your running XP this will be a good opertuntity to do a clean install of windows 7, or dare I day Ubuntu 10.10

    IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!

Before you do ANYTHING after your re-install...
    1.Turn on Windows Firewall
2.Download and install ALL Microsoft updates

Every second Tuesday of every month Microsoft releases their updates, make sure you stay up to date. This is when they release updates for any security holes in the OS.
"Necessity is the plea of every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants, it is the creed of slaves"

Yeah I know but that means I have to back everything up first and if I can avoid that then that would be better. Also It's just offline at the moment so it's not coming to any further harm ...and I'm using the laptop.

I'm not in any rush but I do need to get it sorted at some point.

Also I'm not sure I can actually re-install it myself...I haven't done it without any help before.
