These did not return any sort of useful information when I scanned when with my Android phone (even though the website said it would). Check out QR Codes...

QR Codes can be scanned with smartphones w/ the built in camera.
Barcode Scanner (http://www.appbrain.com/app/barcode-...client.android) for Android.
I'm sure there are also a plethora of scanners for the other platforms (blackberry, iphone)
