lets first get out in the open ....i hate this country!! (Afghanistan) we just need to nuke this country and paved it and build a Walmart..... at least there would be something of value then!! i think this country has a hate of electronics!! ive have had more things just stop working for no apparent reason....i have bought junk electronics at a flea market that last longer than top quality brand name electronics that could last out here barely half the time!!UGGGHHH!!! its been non stop for at least 6months now little thing here breaks and little thing there breaks .. i do what i can to fix it or just toss it in the trash...my laptop almost took a crap but after talking to a useless tech support....which im still waiting on t response from last round....i figured how to fix it myself...(crossing fingers!!) and now on top of everything my xbox 360 elite cd stop working....well it work intermediately so i looked on line top see if it was in warranty and guess what!! 10 days pass..wtf no warranty... so ive looked int to it and i can replace it my self ...ive also looked in to modded the box smoke case with lights ....i can take a whirl at it for just under 100 bucks and might get it back in running order!! or i just can say the hell with it and buy a new 250 slim xbox 360??? hmmmmm anybody mod a box before?? any suggestions??

Maybe just go old school and read book until you get back. It just sounds like a case of bad luck.

WOOT WOOT WOOT is there a spot on my resume as xbox360 repairer!!! since my xbox was out of warranty i cracked the case and crack open the cd.. and guess what i found... there was a dust bunny on the tray tube... it keep the laser from fully extending and reading the disk!! the hardest part was trying not let the freaking plastic break every 2 sec.... but now that ive fixed it..and read about how to open and repair these systems!! i still think ill modd the box..saw some cool stuff online!! all is good with force my young padawan!!

WOOT WOOT!!!! i just got all my parts for my xbox and finished modding it tonight!! looks awesome...smoke glass case with blue LEDS on top and bottom ...installed quite whisper moon fans with blue LEDs and a see thru glass for the cd tray so u can see whats in or spinning!!!! and know if i my cd goes out i can replace it my self know that ive self taught myself on how to tear down and repair a xbox!!! KICK ASS!!! as soon as i get my camrea back to the room ill post some pic's!!

well after do such a great mod on my XBOX 360.... the DVD shit it self.... oh well got a new dvd order from amazon....maybe ill look in to seeing what other mods i can throw at it?? hmm if i do ill post some more pic of the XBOX 360 "beyond the grave" wooohooooooo>>>>

This is why you need to get a PS3 man... And one of the main reasons why I dumped off all my 360 stuff to get a PS3. I'd say it was WELL WORTH IT.

well I found out something great.....NOT!!!....in order to fight piracy they have a mini motherboard on DVD players for xbox and even if you replace the dvd player which i did you cant play xbox games.. due to the fact the mini mother board has to be identical to the one you took out ...firmware and all.... you have to clone the old one over to the new one!! wtf !! i dont have the hardware to do that out here!!! so that was 40 bucks wasted!! so i lubed my dvd rails and screw for the laser and tray and she's limping along.. but my lovley wife surprised me and bought me a new one....250 gb slim 360!! SWEET!! so i should be seeing that in the mail very soon..... but i do like my modded box ..pretty pretty
