    Official US Military Gamers Charter

US MILITARY GAMERS is a military gaming community for current/veteran military & civilian gamers.

Our vision is to provide a relaxed and friendly environment to current/veterans military and older civilian gamers who don't take themselves too seriously. For our members, this group isn't just about enjoying the game, but also about developing a sense of fellowship/friendship & community.

To obtain membership within the USMG, please review/complete the following tasks (Not always, or necessarily in this order):
    * - Required prior to application.

    1. Create/Register an account on the forums. *
    2. Complete the membership application located in the Applications forum
    3. Post an introduction post in the Introductions forum
    4. Play some games with USMG members

We will review your application and contact you to setup a time to get together for a mano-e-mano meet and greet.. During this time, our aim is not to evaluate your gaming skill, or outline just how fabulous we are (and we are!); but rather, to get to know you better and give you a chance to meet some other USMG members, while evaluating your fit within our community.

Once your membership is approved, you will be admitted to the group on a charter/probationary basis for 30 days, as outlined in our official Rules of Conduct. Upon completion of the charter period, you will be granted full membership.

    Membership Requirements:
USMG is currently an open enrollment, no (skill-based) try out gaming community.

    1. Access to a microphone.
    2. Good sportsmanship, good sense of fellowship, and some tough skin!
    3. YOU MUST participate on our forums!
    4. The user must be at least 18 years of age with military service, or at least 21 years of age for a civilian.
    5. Military service and/or reference from current member.
    6. Final admittance is at sole discretion of USMG Council.

    Memberships Disqualifications
The following items are strictly prohibited in US MILITARY GAMERS and thus will disqualify any users from membership. (for more information, please refer to our Rules of Conduct)

    1. System Hacking, Boosting, or Cheating, etc. of any type or definition is grounds for immediate removal from US Military Gamers. (If we can be awesome without cheating, so can you!)
    2. Disrespect - Flagrant disrespect to ANY member and/or opponents/ Trolling and/or flaming members.
    3. Discrimination - Any Unwanted Racial, Sexual Slurs / Insults, Religious Zealotry, Ethnic Discrimination, Nazism, etc..
    4. Clan Hopping - Clan Hopping is defined as the blatantly jumping back and forth between clans/communities/forums, participating in both(or all), but not giving priority to any one singular clan or community.
    5. Any further violation of our Rules of Conduct

    Caveats

Multi-Clan Membership: Is defined as being a part of two or more distinct communities or clans for the purpose of always having people to play with. This is acceptable as long as the following criteria are maintained.

    1. Any other communities should be involved in games that USMG does NOT have a clear and defined presence in. If there is any question or confusion on what games USMG is active in, a member can simply inquire on the forums or directly to the council.

Failure to abide by these rules on a can result in an infraction being placed against you. Most infractions are worth one point, although we reserve the right to give you more at any time if we feel you deserve them. If you accumulate too many infraction points, you will receive an automatic (usually temporary) ban which revokes your posting privileges, as follows:
    • 3 Points - 1 Day
    • 6 Points - 3 Days
    • 10 Points - 1 Week
    • 12 Points - 1 Month
    • >15 Points - Permanent

    USMG Groups
Within the forums here at the USMG, we have different groups with their own color coding to identify them to all registered users of the site. You can find a list of all registered members of the site by clicking on the "Members" link in the nav-bar under the community drop-down.

    Registered Users

Once someone registers and confirms the registration via email, they're automatically placed in the group "Registered Users". These names are shown in pink and have the title "Registered User" under their name. This indicates that this person has completely registered with the site, but has not yet submitted an application to become an USMG member.

    USMG Probationary Member

Those who have decided that they'd like to become USMG members and have submitted their membership application and been approved on a 30 day probationary period are USMG Probationary Member. Their names are highlighted in black and the title below their names. These folks are new, and may need some help and guidance from the community to show them the ropes.

    USMG Member

After the 30 day probationary period and elapsed, an Probationary Member is auto-magically moved into the USMG Member group, and their names become blue and have the title member under their name.

    USMG Staff or Green Team

"Example is the best precept." -- Aesop (c.620-560 BC)

US Military Gamers has a small staff which serves as a governing body for the development of the community. They are responsible for setting the direction of the group, enforcing the clans charter & bylaws, solving disputes, establishing structure, and developing tools and enhancements for the enjoyment of its membership. The Staff is also responsible for the evaluational of applicants and welcome new members, to promote/recruit US Military Gamers out in the world, and to help setup and host clan events. All names of Staff members are shown in green and have the title Staff under their name. Anyone who is a current applicant should look to these folks first when seeking a game to play with USMG members during the evaluation process.
