I tried the Segram's 7 Dark Honey and wasn't very impressed. I thought it was way too sweet and syrupy for my liking. I'm curious if anyone has tried the Jack Daniel version and if it is any better or worse?

Indecision may or may not be my problem.
No but, I am getting thirsty. I actually did something today that I have NEVER done. I drank ONLY 1 beer today. Usually 1 beer leads to 30 but, nope not today. I am proud of myself. It is also the 1st taste of Alky since 17 March. I can feel I just may have to hydrate myself soon though.
So far, I've found the best way to drink the Segram's #7 Dark Honey is mixed with soda, either Coke/Pepsi or Sprite.

I wound up getting a bottle and finished it off over the weekend. It had more bite than the Segram's did, but still too sweet for my personal preference.
I did get an e-mail that Jim Beam is putting "Devil's Cut" on the shelves soon. Their website describes it like this:
MMMmmmmm.....90 proof! To create Jim Beam® Devil's Cut™, an extraordinary new bourbon experience, we developed a proprietary process that actually pulls the rich whiskey trapped inside the barrels' wood after they're emptied. We hold this barrel-treated extract until it develops the proper balance of bourbon notes, then blend it with 6 year old bourbon and bottle at 90 proof. The result: a robust, premium bourbon with deep color, aroma and character.

A follow-up to my post above, I FINALLY found a liquor store in another town nearby that carries the Jim Beam Devil's Cut.
WOW!
If you're a true whiskey fan, you're gonna like this. It's very, VERY strong, but equally smooth. I was really surprised. I've been drinking it straight in shots or in a rocks glass, but not mixing it at all.
Definitely worth your time to sample.

Tried it and didn't like it. Too sweet. I'm a huge fan of jack though.
