I am wondering what your favorite BF3 loadouts are? Particularly interested in assault loadout, which weapon with what accessories?
I primarily use assault.
HK416
IRNV Scope
Foregrip
Suppressor
Medpack
Defib
Squad Ammo
I almost exclusively play on hardcore, however.
AEK-971 > IRNV > Foregrip > Silencer
M249 > IRNV > Bipod > Extended Mag
USAS-12 > IRNV > Extended Mag > Frag Ammo
M416 ACOG or any other low zoom scope, with silencer and grip.
I try to equip all of my weapons with the IRNV scope as quickly as I get it unlocked! I love that scope! It's almost unfair to the enemy! LOL!!! The SCAR and the M249 equipped with it are beasts!! And of course silenced! Just my opinion tho! Semper Fi!!

I like to arm myself with a tank. Period.
Indecision may or may not be my problem.
After these posts I tried the IRNV too. Wow spotting for my team, which I love to do, is so much easier and I get those snipers that sit in their untouchable spawn too. I made it a quest this weekend and got most of them unlocked for my weapons. I love the battlelog stats page showing all the close to unlock items.
I prefer to drive the tank
-Thermal Sights
-Canister Shell
-Reactive Armor
The thermals are a life saver, I rarely turn them off. Ive been cussed out in global chat for blowing up someones (enemy) mines over and over and over. Usually end up with anywhere between 3-10 anti-explosives ribbons.
Additionally great for spotting enemy Armor and Infantry at a distance or hiding in the bushes.
The Canister Shells are lethal at close range, usually fire the main cannon first. They pesky racketeer jumps out thinking I'm reloading and POP he dead. Ive taken out whole squads using this method. Quickly switching between HE and Canister Shell.
-Reactive Armor, Its always nice to be able to take those extra hits on the rear and sides when someone was being sneaky. Or you have stirred up the hornets nest of infantry.
1. I cant say this enough.... NEVER stop moving! a still tank is a DEAD tank.
2. Dont bite off more than you can chew, if you become boxed in, hit the boost and drive away (not in a straight line). Lob couple shells in, then try again with a friend.
I prefer Zoom Optics over the Thermals. They allow me to engage at a much greater distance and I rarely have trouble spotting mines if I'm careful. The rest of my load out is identical, the canister shell is deadly. Although the guided shell is very useful if you've got a friend with the CITV station unlocked. This allows you to lock onto enemy aircraft with the guided shell and swat those pesky choppers out of the sky with a single shot. The reduded anti-infantry effectiveness is mostly negated by having that same friend man the MG when neccesary. A friend in the CITV station also removes the need for thermal optics for spotting mines as they are included with the station.
And I agree whole heartedly with tip number two. Don't be afraid to throw it in reverse and get the hell out, repair if necessary, regroup and counter attack if you are hit by even one RPG. Don't going charging in and stay there, keep you distance and know if and where the enemy are hiding before closing in.
Thanks for the tank tips. Thermal optics is my next unlock.1. I cant say this enough.... NEVER stop moving! a still tank is a DEAD tank.
For the quote above. We did a static display for some 28th ID vets. Most of them fought in the Hurtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge. One of the vets said he would never ever be caught in a tank. He told us some stories but he will always be remembered for his quote "Moving foxholes draw fire!"
We did much the same, for 14th CAV Vets, when we first got equipped our Strykers as the first RSTA sqdn. They where the "14th Cavalry Group" a mix of Armored Recon and Sherman Tanks.
They didnt have very nice things to say about the Sherman, or their "armored cars". But they did talk allot about the battle of the bulge and how they held the flank, and took part in the assault to liberate the 101st. Then went on to fight all the the way to the Inn River at the Austrian border on VE day.
They then bacame the 14th constabulary reg. as part of the occupation of Germany. Finnaly designated at the 14 ACR, and held the Fulda gap during the Cold War. (We named our first FOB in Iraq FOB Fulda)
To quote an old 101st vet I met at a military event I attended a couple of years ago: "Not one of us needed bailing out in the Ardennes, and if he said he did, then he wasn't in Bastogne and he wasn't a Currahee."
I agree. History's portrayal of Patton's reinforcement of the 101st is glorified to say the least. Ask anyone at Ft. Campbell, it's BS to the 506th
