Mexican Drug Gangs Attack Army Bases Near the Border

    "Border violence heats up

In a story to watch, that most of the press continues to ignore, the violence on the border is becoming increasingly brutal and brazen. The latest attack by gang thugs was on an army base near the border. They pulled up to the base in SUVs and opened fire. The good news is that 18 of these dirtbags were shot dead."

To think that for decades we have poured money into Columbia to fight the war on drugs in our hemisphere only to have many narco states pop up. It's now right here on our doorstep and these guys are stepping up the violence and becoming more brazen just like their predecessors. Just like Columbia and the FARC. The cartels pay more so guys double dip or leave honorable work entirely and become paramilitaries/mercenaries with hardcore experience.

They are NOT f'n around in Mexico...

You've probably read the news or saw reports on TV of how bad the violence is in Mexico between their police and military and the cartels. Below is a link to a posting from a Mexican defense website message board that was translated through Babelfish (the syntax may not make much sense, but you should be able to easily tell what the story is saying). The main story is about 1/4 of the way down the page (the story from Monterrey dated 19 March 2010). But what is more telling are the pictures underneath that story. Check out the friggin' Yukon with the turret hatch. :o

Indecision may or may not be my problem.
