i dont know why good it would do IRAN to pretend to have stuff they dont though, it would more likely prompt an attack that without the weapons they wont be able to defend against..
wouldnt go that far, but I did hear on the news that Iran has given several surface attack missiles (Updated SCUDS) to the Hesbolah in Palastein. I think they are trying to intermediate Israel, basically if you attack us they will lob missiles over the border.Originally Posted by Simmion_1
Propaganda is looked at as much more effective in areas of the world like that. Remember the press releases out of Iraq during the GW and OIF even though they were getting slaughtered?

My war story: One time at Al Asad they ran out of steak and crab legs before I got to the chow hall. Oh the horror. Then I hit the rack. The end.
Good point, and as Simmion noted there was the legend of the WW2 ghost army. Additionally, I recall reading a story once about how just before Hiroshima was bombed, the Japanese air defense guns were actually firing blanks, just to give the impression to the people that they were fighting on in the face of the enemy.Originally Posted by Ragingclue

Funny you should mention that. Here's a report to the Senate Armed Services committee from the Defense Intelligence Agency (this is a publicly available document, BTW). Very interesting stuff.Originally Posted by saviger
