ok so question, and i'm totally serious
What made them decide not to have women on submarines in the first place? and what is different now that has changed that makes them feel it is now a good idea?
I always figured at least part of it came from a risk of pregnancy because come on, out at sea for several months....a bunch of young guys and girls....it happens out there in the desert, i imagine it would be just as bad if not worse cooped up in a submarine....
i wonder, do they plan on making it mandatory for all the woman to have a birth control injection? They make the ones that last 3 months or so and the ones that last close to a year i think that are sort of like tablets injected under the skin
Gaming is staying up 'til 3am to earn a trophy that isn't real.......BUT IS
Because max you are right about women and pregnancy. When certain subs submerge they stay down for 6 months or more and nothing will make them surface unless it is mission specific. Now having a chance of a woman getting pregnant on board causing an interruption in that mission can cause security issues to that subs mission. That would be one expensive pregnancy.
Pregnancy, sexual assault, sexual harassment. Certain times of the month females tend to make rash decisions. females are more likely to make emotionally based decisions. And I'm guessing on nuclear capable submarines a female would have more of a problem launching a missile that is capable of causing massive casualties than a male would.
and not just on the subs themselves, but there is money involved in preparing the training facilities to accommodate females. and once again, the military probably doesnt want to spend tens of thousands of dollars training a female officer to take charge of a sub then have her get pregnant and then have to put someone else there instead.
I hope not sav... I hope not... Any-who, Women on subs = bad idea from all the things listed above, plus all the guys are gonna lose out on a couple bathrooms that I'm sure are already packed as it is. It's not like they can just add another LOLz. Maybe if they serve they gotta get a hysterectomy, that would make things a little better. But I also hear it makes women Bee Cheese. In the long run bad idea. The military doesn't have to be "politically correct" all the time, they should do what makes the mission have a higher success rate, that's why we kick out people who would bring the success rate down.Originally Posted by saviger
Today in breaking news, unit cohesion in subs plummet, but sources can't figure out why...
