Xbox 1 controller will work with PCs...eventually

Xbox One Controller PC Compatibility Coming in 2014
PC gamers will be able to use the redesigned gamepad.
by Matt Clark AUGUST 12, 2013

For some PC gamers, the ability to use an Xbox 360 controller was a viable alternative to the mouse and keyboard setup. But with the announcement of the Xbox One, and subsequently an entirely new controller, questions lingered about compatibility. Thankfully, a Kotaku interview with Microsoft has confirmed the Xbox One controller will work with PC titles--eventually.

"There is some work that we need to do to make sure that existing PC games that support the Xbox 360 controller will work with the Xbox One controller," a Microsoft spokesperson told Kotaku via email. "While it seems trivial, it’s actually quite a bit of dedicated work for all that to be seamless for the user. We know people want to use the Xbox One controller on their PC, and we do too--we expect to have the functionality available in 2014."

Currently, the Xbox 360 controller works with a vast array of PC titles that offer gamepad functionality. The controllers are also compatible with some Mac games, using third-party drivers.

That's pretty cool for all of those windows gamers out there assuming you aren't using a keyboard and gaming mouse

Xbox 360 wired controllers already work with PC just plug in and play. Woop. Except MACs of course. Awesome feature though.
