    Windows 10 Preview

Anyone else been playing around with the Windows 10 tech preview build? I've had it running for a couple weeks now with zero crashes or issues so it seems pretty stable. last i checked we're on build 10074 and they changed the name to "Windows 10 Home Insider Preview"

I'm liking it much better than windows 8 so far, most of all the start menu being mostly back. Its sort of a combo of the old menu and windows 8 but it doesn't look or feel so built for tablets this time around. Not sure i'd ever use the multiple desktop feature but i guess we'll see if a need is created out of availability. The new web browser, Project Spartan, feels much lighter and better than IE for sure but i'm still using chrome most of the time. the ability to draw stuff in the browser seems like another feature i'm not sure i'll utilize but we'll see as time moves on and the final version is released. Cortana is still a bit wonky for me so I pay her little attention, hoping she will improve with future builds

Multiple desktops are awesome! I loved using them in Linux.

    But I haven't tried Win 10 yet.

Wasn't way back with XP when they had the "Power Toys", which one of them was multiple desktops. After using multiple desktops within Linux I don't think I could settle for just one.

Hmm... Maybe I'm missing the functionality or the Linux option is something much more robust
(apologies, I've never dabbled in Linux)
With this windows 10 feature, from what I've seen from playing with it, it gives me the option to dock two program windows like we already have in 7 and 8, and then you could open a new desktop and dock two more, essentially switching between the 4 programs on the fly. I typically just put programs in full window and alt tab my way between them though so I must be missing the point here for sure

Yeah basically in Linux you could open up as many windows as you wanted on your normal desktop and then switch (by clicking or using the shortcut - I think it was ctrl+shift+left/right) to other "workspaces" and use them there. So you would have multiple (standard was 4, but you could use more if you like) completely independent desktops.

Nice. Snag some footage to share. Just looked it up and saw you can also steam Xbox One games to play on a computer running Windows 10.

yeah they're pushing for a lot of PC-XBOX integration this time around

I did a few minutes of capture from minecraft that i'll post up after I finish uploading it. I think it came out pretty decent, especially considering i'm using a stock $300 laptop with no paid software of hardware. couldn't manage to get it to capture sound even though there are settings for it so I imagine it is supposed to and will by final release

I'm using the Pro Insider Preview version of Windows 10, and so far, I'm really liking it. Drivers ofcourse are a little weird, but everything appears to be in order, and working.

I was having a little issue with flash plug-ins but the most recent update smoothed it out

I noticed that too, and Java was a little weird.

There are a few auto updates for win 10 that seem to get stuck at install. I like it for the most part. Although there is such a huge push for office 2016 to be cloud based.....cloud or Azure AD....such choices
