I think AA Launchers need to be toned down. I am tired of being shot down from across the map by an infantry soldier using a stinger or igla! It was not a good experience. First server I dropped in, loading screen appeared then the wonderful lockup. Restart PS3, load game 2. Round begins, notice a little lag, buy not too bad. levolution happens on operation locker, then the lag got really bad. I get killed, spawn, and the lock up comes again. The fix......power off the console and curse EA.

nVIDIA is slightly better for Adobe products. But if you're not doing a lot of rendering, I don't think it'll make a whole lot of difference (e.g. Photoshop manipulation you'll probably be fine with AMD).

Just some advice, recording takes up a lot of hard drive space, so be sure you have a lot. Also, try to break it up into 30 minute segments, or every few games. Makes managing files a lot easier.

No kidding. A 10-minute video is easily 5+ GB. I've probably got 200+ GB of video on my drive to sort through.

Yup I've still got to get around to buying a giant platter for recording. 1080P@60FPS can really eat up some space, even if compressed in MP4. I've tried recording uncompressed and it's effin gigantic, surprised I could get that kind of throughput to a platter.

Yep. It's all good for editing. If you ever get into editing HD, or editing 4K footage, you'll be glad for every bit of extra power and memory you have. Then you can add RAID storage for faster access to the footage and you'll be good. :)

Yeah I almost bought an i7-4770K, but went with the i5-4670K. Basically the only difference is 100MHz in clock speed (and overclocked there's no difference), and some slightly better parallel processing. Wasn't worth the $100 premium at the time.

Yeah PC has had the campaign bug as long as consoles IIRC. That's why I haven't gone back to get anything from previous levels (plus I'm too lazy, but the "I'm worried about the campaign bug" defense sounds so much better).

Yeah I've given up at the moment, from what I'm hearing you pretty much have to play the whole thing from beginning to end or take your chances with the save file....mine has reset three times then I said no more. Once again I finally had spare time and feel good enough to play a 2hr block get into Second Assault first time and 180-200+ ms ping and DCs...EA_DICE has fooled me twice into thinking they care about getting the game working...there will NOT be a third time

When Battlefield 4 launched, many of series fans wondered why EA and DICE had done away with the series multiplayer “platoon” feature. Platoons were popular in Battlefield 3, as they allowed players to group up before joining a match, helping to keep parties together.


After quashing the idea that they would make a return for the sequel, DICE has some good news for fans. Platoons are coming back. “We are looking at introducing Platoons for Battlefield 4 in early 2014,” community manager Vincent Vukovic writes. “We know this is a very popular feature for Battlefield players that have been used by thousands of fans, and as such we are preparing to bring it back into Battlefield 4.”


Battlefield 4 currently uses Battlelog for friend management. Based on the Battlefield 3 implementation, platoons will give players the opportunity for greater social interaction, chat and messaging, and scheduling. More information on platoons in Battlefield 4 will be coming soon.

In the forum thread in which this was announced, another oft-requested feature surfaced (despite DICE's indication that it won't happen). Players want to be able to squad up before a match starts. The only thing that pisses me off to no end is the lack of squad/platoon support. All the other bugs/issues are "meh" and don't really break the game for me. It boggles my mind that they released this game without that stuff, and even further have still not updated the game to include those things.

I don't really have any fun lone wolfing in BF4, mostly because I suck. The lack of squad and platoon support in this game are a deal breaker for me at times.

got a question i noticed when setting up the Platoon's that a old member Taino67u(i belive this one was on the web) and JorgieTano67u(this profile is carrying our clan tag currently)which i belive is the same person just 2 profiles i guess. i know he was apart of the community at some point but now when i look him up i dont see him at all?? was he part of the Pak?? and left then? or somehow was lost in the shuffle?? or Banned?
IDK anybody else know??

They should update battlelog and split the different platforms. You can only have 100 members and that's really not a lot for all the platforms.

Yes you have to open up the console for your browser and then just copy the code from Bravofiveone's post in the emblems thread, paste it into the console prompt at the emblem page in battlelog and press Enter.

Since we can do that, those who were going to take charge of their respective consoles can do so now, right? Not sure how we were going to go about this, if we were going to let the dust settle in the superplatoon before the schism or not.

All of those names are for the same person. I have not seen Jorgie in the forums in a very long time. He did game with us on BF4 many times after release.

Am not impressed. What little I've seen of the other redone maps I've liked (got a video coming soon of quite a number of tags taken on Firestorm's tall tower), but Metro isn't any better. It still ends up being the exact same gridlock.

On the plus side, I did get 300+ heals (41 medkit ribbons), and 38 revives (7 defib ribbons), so it wasn't a total loss.

Bottom line: never, EVER play a no explosives Metro server...

Yeah it seems that way too. Played 2 rounds today of normal Metro. Ended up being the same. First time we pushed them back to their spawn and just sniped the shit out of them. The second one they blocked us at B and it ended up being gridlock for the rest of the match. Did go 31-7 in that one though, nice to be a "High Value Target" again. :redface:

You might not have been logged in. Sometimes Battlelog logs you out without noticing and you can't access everything.

You need to go onto battlelog and go to customize and make sure your gamertag is matched to the battlelog profile. Also make sure that the BF4 profile is set to active.

A newly discovered bug may be the cause of some of those inexplainable moments of frustration that you sometimes experience in Battlefield 4.

Ever fire a bullet, throw a grenade, or launch an RPG at an enemy only to experience a negative effect, despite a clear hit? As it turns out, that particular instance may be linked to a game breaking bug with Battlefield 4′s revive system.

As YouTube personality Jack Frag points out with a few fellow team members, it appears that the hit box of a downed but revivable soldier can actually continue to block projectiles, including even tank shells.

In Battlefield 4, there is a short period of time after a soldier dies that he or she is able to accept a revive from a fellow soldier equipped with defibrillators. Once the countdown period expires, a dead soldier will not be able to accept a revive any longer. Death from explosives, however, will kill a soldier outright with no chance for revival.

With this new discovery, it appears that projectiles fired from live soldiers will pass over a completely dead soldier without trouble, as it should be. But it’s a dead soldier waiting for a revive that seems to be causing the trouble if it happens to be in the way of your aim. It’s likely most noticeable on maps with narrow corridors like Operation Locker or Operation Métro.

You’re expression right now is probably something like, “So, that’s why!” It appears that developer DICE has yet to acknowledge the bug as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted with updates.

UPDATE: According to DICE QA Lead, a fix for the bug is being looked into.

I wish DICE would change the color coding of your teammates to include your party members. There's many times we have more than 5 people on a team but have to break into 2 squads. Problem is, now your other "party squad" are blueberries. You can't tell where they are on the minimap. They should make them a different color...maybe yellow or purple it something.

I've gotten pretty decent with jets. Attack jets with 30mm cannons are amazing and rockets are great for ground attack. The active radar missiles and the 30mm cannon on the Stealth jets are pretty good too.

But I'm not premium, so I haven't done the Phantom assignments

I can't seem to even get a scoreboard kill with a stealth jet. The aiming sights for the 30mm seems to be way off or impossible to predict a lead. I switch between active radar and laser guided (if just one v. one jets). The active is nice for broadsiding a heli and forcing it to go inverted. Otherwise, I find stealth jets a chicken chase game.

I hate it when I strafe them and they pull up straight into me and we crash. I also hate it when they eject before they die, but I've gotten a couple roadkills as they fall. One time there was a sniper standing on top of one of the big towers and I ran over him with the jet. That was funny (he lol'd)

It's just hilarious in China Rising Obliteration. I sneak around a mountain with a active radar-equipped stealth jet and shoot them right as a heli is going after our bomb carrier. BWHAHAHAHAH

Don't worry, each time I've done that, I've been equally killed by a helicopter when I bail out. So happens my pilot decides its a good idea to bail out the ground side. DOH!

Just had a 30 kill streak in the M142 (rocket truck). That is such great fun when there are clusters of enemies.

Also had some nice jet runs - a 15 kill streak in the Frogfoot and a penta-kill in the Q-5 (completely full UH-1)

Our server has been dead lately because of the bug that limits it to a max of 44 players... Ea is supposed to be fixing it, but I doubt you will be disrupting anything if you wanted to do it on our server.

Those were my thoughts. If they are going to use the shield you should be able to use a pistol, just give it some sort of hip fire accuracy with a minor penalty pr something. I did enjoy shield kills while I was doing them when it first came out but now it's just a crappy novelty to me. If they can be used more than cover they should be a little more realistic, no kills from the bash but maybe be able to use the edge of the shield to jab/hit for damage.

They do remind me of cod, but should be fun. They will be helpful against people who are camping, you will be able to either protect yourself or unleash unholy hell on people. It's a wait and see once its released, cause you know people are going to spam the shit out of that robot.
