If anyone has already ranted about these uncomfortable POS's then forgive the redundancy and just give me a second.

I am the proud owner of an abnormally large head and absolutely terrible eyesight. Trying to get that little worthless leg situated around my ear and leg of my glasses was truly an exercise in futility. I'd be 5 minutes deep in a game of MAG and all of a sudden one of my twitches would dislodge that thing and I'd spend the rest of the match trying to carry out tasks with a hand on the controller and a hand next to my ear.

I hope you're all happy to know that I don't just aimlessly gripe and complain. I took a little initiative and will be rockin my Suzy the Time Life operator look from now on. I will be tethered by a 10' USB cord but if I like it as much as I think I will then I'll get a wireless one. This was just to find out how the sound quality and clarity before getting one of those.

All in all, this is a celebratory post because I'm done with holding my head at odd angles and having earaches all the time from that thing. You'd think Sony could have done a little better. That's all for now folks, take care.

lol i agree, the official Sony bluetooth did take a bit of work to get it to fit and feel right on me but eventually i did get it right and works pretty well. I used to use a larger mic that sat over the ear as i'm not a big fan of something sticking in my ear but i do like the docking station and desktop mode the sony mic offers. If you want to go wireless, give this one a shot:

Logitech Cordless Vantage Headset

goes for $40 on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordless-Vantage-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B000928E34) with free shipping
the bar wraps around the back of your head and the angle of the mic is adjustable. Battery life is good too, i've never had it run out of juice on me before and play for long hours sometimes

I guess great minds do think alike Maximus. I bought that model with the USB cord just to see how the logitech actually worked. I doubt there'd be any difference if I decide to go wireless sometime soon. Seems like the mic and speaker would be identical in both so that's more or less what I'm looking for.

In their defense, the PS3 mic sounded great. The mic did ok as well. It just had to be the most uncomfortable piece of equipment ever that was designed outside of a government contract. Oh well, I've always secretly wanted to have that Backstreet Boys mojo going on so this just gets me one step closer. Now if Julie would just quit laughing

Hmmm I have a ps3 bluetooth one that I got from the local gamestop, and it's worked perfect for me. I don't know, maybe I got bigger ear canals or something LOL. It does tend to start hurting after 4-5 hours of constant wear though.

lol i always felt like i was on drive thru at McDonalds or something when i was wearing it

if you do end up going wireless, pair it to your cellphone too, it's awesome to see the looks people give you when they see it

I wear glasses and never came across any problems. The ONLY problem is like Sig said is after awhile it does start hurting your ear.

Hell yeah the official one hurts my ears after an hour or so. So i bought the turtle beach and like it ok, I just hate wires. The turtle beach is pretty good quality and can hear footsteps and all that good stuff. It does get my head sweaty if I have it on for a while which is annoying.

I suppose it's irrelevant at this point but that was another issue with the mic. I sweat just turning up the radio and after a bit of gaming then the earpiece would only stay put using gorilla tape. Oh well, MAG in 5 minutes and trying out the logitech.

Timmy initiated a thread on headsets a while back, which turned out to be pretty informative for all. You can check it out here: http://boards.usmilitarygamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=214
