And the great thing is....every AC has a solid dps spec. And BH is one of the classes without pure dps.....so you're still stuck with tank/dps options.

The core group I've got little to no worries, it's the newer people, who may or may not be problems I'm worried about. More being prepared for issues than actually having them.

3 of 8 ac's per faction can heal. And they have solid dps to boot, so I'd try it out for funs anyway.

Yeah, I will most definitely not be maxed level LOL! But, I'm expecting to be in the 30's at least. I was able to hit 25 in the 3/4 days we got to do the last beta with BH, and was MvP of Hutball about 6/10 games. Which, from what I could tell, got me nothing HAHAHA!

Sometimes. Not always.. A lot of the testing is used to balance the experience in terms of questing and grinding.

Haha yeah that's why I just started tanking only a couple years ago. Before that, my policy was "F that, those guys are such scapegoats." I got real good at being ranged DPS and just watching my threat meters instead of trying to top the DPS meters. It didn't matter anyway, when I played locks were never at the top unless you outgeared every mage, boomkin, ret pally, etc...

Being the tank, it was only the tank's fault if others pulled aggro and died (and we all know it's not because the mage class started nuking before the tank had built up enough). It's the healer's fault generally if the tank dies. So sometimes the blame could be deflected from tank to healer. Seems like the healer gets the shaft. Nowhere to deflect that blame usually.

In any case, I think I might go the healer role here. I'm pretty much sick of ranged DPS, so it's either tank or heals. I like tanking, but seems a lot of people will be playing the tanky classes already.

I don't think the exp rate will change because over the course of a few builds they tweaked it in beta. For awhile you had to pretty much do every quest and the bonus objectives on the starting worlds to hit level 10 when you hit the fleet to do Esseles.

In the final beta build they adjusted the exp gain so that you were definitely level 10 when you hit the fleet and trained your advanced class.

You could spacebar all of the conversations and level super fast but why would you want to? The storylines and dialogue are what make that game. The gameplay still needs more polish. At least the low level Guardian/Juggernaut gameplay does.

Granted, they end up being beastly but you don't get all of your tanking tools until low to mid 30s. Plus you have to spec into the powers-centric tree to get the self heal, but the talents from the tanking tree lower the cooldown on it.

Well it used to anyway. One of the developers posted on the beta boards that Guardian/Juggernaut will be receiving an overhaul. I don't think it made it into the initial release build, which sucks cause that means we won't see the changes for a few weeks to a few months.

I can't wait until tomorrow. My wife is taking off Friday so she can watch the kids and give me a three day weekend of cracking out with the game.

James Ohlen has said SWTOR players can expect patches to fix bugs and exploits found in the newly launched MMO “almost every week”.

Speaking in a post on the official forums (http://www.swtor.com/blog/word-bugs-james-ohlen), Ohlen said to expect balance changes, and other minor fixes, as such issues are of “the highest priority.”

“They are reviewed by senior leadership on a daily basis. Bug fixes usually take longer than a week to get into the game because we need to fix the issue and then test the fix. Some bugs take longer than that because of the complexity of the issue,” he said.

“There are issues that we will fix immediately. These are rare and not every issue can be fixed in this manner. We usually reserve these ‘emergency fixes’ for bugs that are stopping players from playing the game or to exploits that could unbalance the entire game if not corrected.”

Ohlen said previously that Bioware will be adding “new game systems and content in future patches”.

It's like both, and like neither. The actual gameplay is probably most similar to Dragon Age 2......if your ability bars had room for 12 abilities each.


Righteous......crew skill missions give you items you use in your crafting profession. And Mako isn't remotely Republic. She's just not a sadistic killer, and is most interested in the credits. She's neutral, leaning towards Light. And FYI, light and dark don't mean Republic and Empire.

As far as /friend goes the person you are trying to add to your friend's list has to be on in order for it to work. If they are offline it says they don't exist.

They're adding UI customization, but as for fully homegrown UI's, like WoW mods, it's uncertain if they ever will. They're adding some modding and macro capability in the near future, but I kind of doubt it will be as open as WoW's was....thankfully, that's a good thing.

Sounds like you're using archeology and treasure hunting....which are for artifice. Chech your crew skills under the codex....it's a tab in your mission log.

You can all ready do that in the options menu. You can move and resize the Operation frames and you can increase the length and width of the Health bars in those frames.

There's also an option to show numbers and percentages on Health and resource bars for you and your targets & group mates.

Heh I'll have to look into that. Don't forget, I'm also the one who didn't know you could see LS/DS before choosing so PEBKAC is rampant on this side of the monitor.

Still would like to have a G13 shaped series of bars though. That would be nice.

yep, that's fine.. That rule only applies to games we are currently active in..
So, for it to apply to swtor, we would need to have an active guild, which we do not..
